The apartment is very convenient to transportation and a short walk to the shops and restaurants along the canals. It is also not far from the center of Milan by foot. The building is very secure and quiet.
However, it was very difficult to get a response from the owner prior to arrival (finally had to call VRBO for assistance). The furniture is beat-up, the rugs were filthy and there were stains on the sofa. After calling the management and sending photos, they sent someone over to put a fitted sheet over part of the sofa with the worst stains, but left the rugs which we rolled up and put away during our stay.
The kitchen has the bare minimum equipment - some mismatched cups and utensils. We find it nice when an apartment has some starter goods, like a few coffee pods for the first morning - not here. Not even a roll of paper towels, napkins, a kitchen towel or dish or laundry soap.
One major inconvenience was that only one set of keys was available. As we were on different schedules (one of us working, the other vacationing) it required some complicated coordination for us to both access the apartment when we wanted.
