Set in the Andorran Pyrenees, Soldeu is probably Andorras best known resort recommended for budding beginners and improving intermediates. Excellent all round family resort.Soldeu & primary focus throughout winter is skiing with arguably the best ski school in Europe. Superb family friendly facilities. Fantastic slopes for all standards.Activities include skidoos, dog sledging, helicopter rides, paragliding.Soldeu Village is the highest station in the 4 village Gran ski complex. It is a medium sized lively unpretentious resort popular with the British, French and Spanish. The resort is built along the main road that runs from Andorra La Vella (the capital of Andorra) through to France. The resort has a mixture of large and small hotels, ski-shops, bars and restaurants. Many of the workers in the resort are young and speak good English, which helps to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere around the resort. The ambience is relaxed more catalan then french in character, with great apres ski. For its size Soldeu is incredibly well served with thriving bars,clubs and restaurants and the facilities have been greatly improved in recent years both on and off the slopes. The resort is lively, helped by the young skiers and snow-boarders that are attracted to Soldeu. Andorra is well known for it's duty free status, which helps the Après-Ski in the resort. There is no shortage of bars, restaurants and hotels in Soldeu. Five minutes down the valley is Canillo with the Sports Palace, Olympic swimming pool, ice rink, go karts on ice and tennis.
