The Hide With Private Wood Fired Hot Tub. A truly romantic getaway on a Vineyard
Located in a quiet corner of the vineyard 'The Hide' is a truly romantic get-away
Surrounded by woodland and farmland with a vineyard in front of you - a private space perfect for 2 adults with a newly added Wood Fired Hot Tub in a shelter facing west for those evening sunsets - There is a small extra charge for this amazing facility of £50
This is a unique and rare opportunity to stay on an organic & Bio Dynamic Vineyard in England in a Shepherd's Hut & Cabin, located in an AONB on Dorset's Jurassic Coast
You have your own area on the vineyard, where you can relax and enjoy your outside space with a fire pit under a canopy of trees tucked away in the best corner of the vineyard, with beautiful views across the vines, valley & to the sea
Not long released having gone through a full refurbishment with everything updated, improved and finished to a lovely high standard - aesthetics and comfort in mind - it's up market glamping!
Please note that each room is separate to each other, therefore you will be going outside when you go between each room - proper glamping!
- The Wood Fired Hot Tub and shelter with decking and seating - perfect for evenings under the stars - facing west for those sunsets. A beautiful cedar clad two person hot tub which will be cleaned, filled with fresh water ready for your arrival along with a crate of wood with everything you need to light your very own wood fired hot tub - available all year round. There is an extra charge of £50 for this amazing facility
- The Shepherd's Hut - has a lovely atmosphere and is warm and comfortable decorated in neutral colours it feels like a serene space as soon as you walk in. The hut is fitted with mains lighting and sockets, heated by a little wood-burner to make your evenings cosy and romantic. There are plenty of candles in the room if electric lamps are not wanted. The bed is a very comfortable and has a memory foam mattress. The bed linen is a lovely white cotton with soft touch quilt and pillows and a couple of cosy, handy throws for those colder evenings. A lavender sleep spray and room diffuser are there for use during your stay
- The Cabin - has a great deck area for sitting out and enjoying the beautiful views and evening sunsets. The double doors of the cabin open out on to the deck. Inside the cabin is a kitchen and indoor seating area. The kitchen is well equipped with enamelware, all the utensils, pots and pans, cutlery etc. A great little fridge, a two ring electric hob with a whistling kettle, toaster and a sink with hot water. There is a 2 seater leather sofa in front of the wood-burner - perfect for a cosy night in in front of the fire. There are electric lights and lamps, candle holders, room spray and diffuser, books and walking maps and games compendium
- The Shower Room - There's a separate shower room tucked on the back of the cabin which has an electric shower, basin with hot and cold water, toilet, shelving, wooden seat and a great heated towel rail, shower wash, hand wash and hand cream, shampoo & conditioner, room diffuser and room spray
- Fire Pit - Outside the Shepherd's Hut is the Fire-Pit with a hand forged cooking tripod and grill. Wood is provided for this together with a set of BBQ tools and skillet pans for a great cook out. There are a couple of large tree trunks for seating and if you prefer to cook on gas there is a gas BBQ on the decking of the hot tub
The Hide has an 'off grid' feel as there are no TV's, radios, microwaves or WIFI
A great way to live simply for a few days - of course with a sprinkle of luxuries!
Both rooms have a wood burning stove to keep you warm during colder times, which you need to light and manage during your stay. A great chance to live differently for a few days! We provide a basket of wood with each wood burner for your stay and should you need further wood, this can be bought from us at £20 per crate
Please note that the electricity system will not support electric heaters should you think of bringing one to use during your stay
We do not pre light your wood fired hot tub or your wood burners before you arrive
There is good 4G from across the valley
Little Waddon Vineyard has a no pet or children policy
We are a working vineyard set amongst neighbouring farmland.
You'll be staying on Little Waddon Vineyard which is a boutique little vineyard sitting on a gentle south facing slope, with views of the sea beyond Chesil beach. This is the Jurassic Coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's located in the same valley as Abbotsbury Sub-Tropical Gardens so benefits from this unique micro climate. On a lovely summer's day it could easily be the South of France!
Little Waddon Vineyard has a beautifully wild quality about it, surrounded by native tree species and abundant wildlife
Watch the pheasants feeding on the land and slowly going up to roost in the evening, the air bat display at The Hide at dusk, the woodpeckers swooping through the vines, the amazing swallows feeding off the insects above the vines in the summer and our resident owl calling in the evenings all year round!
This fantastic growing habitat (terroir) is a loam soil on Kimmerage clay over chalk, which provides a wonderful environment for the vines to thrive. In short it’s perfectly suited for growing organic grapes with Bio Dynamic principles and practices
