## Neighborhood
Westminster is, most famously, home to iconic London landmarks like Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, which sit proudly on the edge of the Thames. There is much more to do and see around Westminster. As well as tours of these famous sites, there’s St James’s Park, which is essentially the Queen’s front garden - you can wander through here to reach Piccadilly. Between The Mall and Piccadilly also lies the genteel neighborhood of St James’s, characterized by luxury hotels and some of London’s oldest shops. If you book in advance, you can take a tour of the Palace of Westminster, home to the House of Commons and the House of Lords, resplendent in it’s beautiful neo-gothic style, courtesy of the architect Augustus Pugin.
When you want to step out for a drink and a bite to eat in the City of Westminster, you won’t be disappointed by the choice. Just a stone’s throw from Westminster Abbey on Great Smith Street is The Cinnamon Club, which serves up award-winning Indian cuisine, whilst the nearby Regency Cafe is a rare example of an old-fashioned cheap and cheerful British caff in the political heart of Britain. As for pubs, you can’t go far wrong with St. Stephen's, which is the closest public bar to the Houses of Parliament and home to a great selection of beer. Up the road is the Red Lion on Whitehall. Equidistant from Downing Street and Parliament, it is a favourite of MPs and advisors, getting out of the political bubble for a quick knees up.
## Transit
Pimlico station is the nearest station to the property, just an eight minute walk away. This connects you to the overground and Victoria line, meaning you can get to iconic London sites and explore further afield in no time at all, such as the London Eye, Buckingham Palace and Oxford Street. Exploring London could hardly be easier!
