What a gem to find in York
I go away with a small group of friends every year for New Years Eve and we always book an apartment or house as it is a lot more convenient than hotels and overall I probably stay in around 3 apartments/houses a year at least on my travels. This has to be one of the best I have ever rented. The apartment was literally perfect in so far as the most comfortable bed you could wish for, lovely decor with plenty of room for everyone, two great bathrooms and all the facilities you would need in the kitchen or for a stay. A proper home from home. I had one issue on the first night where I stupidly mixed up my keys with the apartment keys as they were almost identical and locked the door behind me, this was sorted in less than 5 minutes which we all thought pretty amazing.
Location is another major bonus, far enough off of the main drag to be quiet but a short 5 minute walk from most of the major attractions.
When I go back to York I will not be staying anywhere else but this apartment if it is available.
If I could have any criticism it is that the old sash windows are not double glazed against the cold but again, that was more than made up for by the extremely heavy curtains that worked like double glazing when closed at night.
If you are going to York this should be your number 1 choice.
