Local Area
The Pallants are some very old streets in Chichester although our apartment is just laying back from this area, it still shares this unique tranquillity. As history goes, this part of Chichester belonged to the Archbishop and use to be called the Palantine. The word palantine means 'of the palace' however as time went on is gradually became what it is today - 'Pallant'.
The apartment is situated in a very quiet residential quarter of Chichester.
Ideally located only a few minutes walk from the city centre, it offers easy access to the many shops, bars, restaurants and cafes that Chichester has to offer. Whether on business or pleasure this apartment is an ideal base.
If you are working at St Richards Hospital, the apartment is just a 20 minute walk away. Chichester College and University are both within an easy walk.
If you are looking for a place to stay whilst attending a Goodwood event - the apartment is only a 15 minute drive from Goodwood Motor Circuit, House and Horse Racing. There are many taxi companies operating in the area, please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any help in organising this.
It is also a great base to explore the local area. There is an abundance of things to do locally - The countryside of the beautiful South Downs National Park and the south coast are within a short drive as are the towns and cities of Arundel, Bognor Regis and Portsmouth with outlet shopping at Gunwharf Quays.
A car is not essential with this property as there is a bus and train station in Chichester.
Tesco Express is only a 4 minute walk away and Chichester boasts many beautiful parks, some of which with play equipment for children. Oaklands Park, Priory Park and Bishops Palace Gardens are all a short walk away and offer stunning views of this historic town.
The cathedral offers free entry and is a beautiful building to explore and visit. The city walls walk and Chichester cathedral are great if you like to soak up the history of the city. Chichester canal is a 10 minute walk away and from here there are often boat trips on offer.
Chichester canal is also a nice place to visit either for a long walk through to Chichester Marina or on a boat trip which operate regularly.
A visit to Chichester Theatre is a must and they always have so much going on! They have many shows throughout the year, both matinee and evening performances.
The Novium Museum is located opposite the cathedral in West Street and gives a great insight into Chichester's history.

Getting there
Arriving by Car -
Chichester is made up of ring roads and one way systems which is difficult to navigate if you are unfamiliar with the area.
Input the following postcode into a SatNav or Google Maps - PO19 1TR (one way road)
This will direct you to the front of the accommodation building. From here, head East along East Pallant Road. Turn right at the T junction onto St John’s Street. Turn right again after 80 yards, in front of 'Stride and Sons' travel down a narrow one way road signposted 'council offices and shopping mobility.' Continue straight across the road into the walled public car park. Follow the entry road past the front of the brick council office building as the road bears left. In front of you is a cut through into another parking area, DO NOT go this way but instead make a right turning towards a dead end. Travel through two large trees in the car park, towards three white garage doors. We are the second right after 'UNIPRO.' You will see our wrought iron black gates, marked 5 and 5A East Pallant.
