The house has been in my family for almost 50 years, having been bought as a ruin. During renovations in the 1980s my parents welcomed hundreds of young travellers from across the globe who helped out with a few days or a few weeks' work in return for food, lodging and good company. The house is absolutely individual, being the product of my father's vision and engineering expertise; and my mother's enthusiasm and hospitality.
During the late 1980s and early 1990s it was run as an auberge, and the restaurant is still fondly remembered by those who frequented it as the best restaurant around at its time. My family and I have continued the work, gradually updating the property - most notably the new pool, 2 new bathrooms and the new kitchen. This is a work in progress, as we are continuing to update the internal decor as time and finances allow.
My children are the 3rd generation who have put their mark on the home, helping out both with redesigning the garden and updating the house.
