Das Vintage Summer Cottage befindet sich hoch oben an der felsigen KĂŒste von Westport Island an der mittleren KĂŒste von Maine. SPEKTAKULÄRE ANSICHTEN der umliegenden Inseln, der funktionierenden Hummerboote und der Hafenrobben. Es gibt auch einen einfachen Zugang zum Wasser und einem Dock. Hendriks Hauptleuchtturm und das offene Meer liegen direkt sĂŒdlich und sind gut sichtbar. Die wundervolle SĂŒdostausrichtung ermöglicht aus jedem Fenster einen atemberaubenden Blick auf das Wasser, die Tierwelt, den Bootsverkehr und den Sonnenaufgang! Luftige und gerĂ€umige Zimmer mit Landhausmöbeln und AntiquitĂ€ten. Zentralheizung. Eine große umlaufende Veranda an der Westseite des Hauses, um die SonnenuntergĂ€nge zu beobachten. Auf einer wunderschönen Halbinsel mit Blick auf eine Bucht im Norden des Hauses befindet sich ein Tiefseedock.
Das Haupthaus ist 4 Schlafzimmer (3 Queens und ein König) und ein Einzelbett auf der geschlossenen Veranda. Das angeschlossene GerĂ€t verfĂŒgt ĂŒber eine voll ausgestattete KĂŒche, eine Terrasse am Wasser und bietet Platz fĂŒr 4. Es ist vom Haupthaus oder von einem separaten Außeneingang zugĂ€nglich.
Ein Paradies fĂŒr Bootsfahrer!: Wenn Sie ein Boot haben ... Bringen Sie es mit! In der Bucht gibt es eine Anlegestelle fĂŒr ein 22-Fuß-Boot. Am Steg ist immer tiefes Wasser. Es gibt eine öffentliche Bootsanlegestelle auf der Insel, ca. 8 km von der HĂŒtte entfernt. Kajakverleih nur die Straße hinauf und kann geliefert und abgeholt werden. Das Sheepscot Bay Gebiet ist ein Paradies fĂŒr Bootsfahrer, mit wundervollen Zielen ...

We had a great stay at Ellen's property. It was very peaceful along the river. There is so much to do in the area within a 30 min. radius. Ellen was easy to work with and gave us lots of insight about the area and activities. We would stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The home and grounds were beautiful. Fishing and kayaking with the seals right from the dock were highlights. The kitchen and dining room were great for family meals. We enjoyed a day trip to Boothbay Harbor and a hike at Camden Hills state park. Locally we had a great meal at the Montsweag Restaurant.

Classic Coastal Maine Cottage

Our family stayed at the large house and property while attending a wedding in Boothbay. We enjoyed the incredible water views, boiled lobster, fished from the dock and built fires in the fire pit. Very idyllic location!

What a wonderful place

This was truly a dream come true as we planned my daughter‘s graduation. To be able to find a home to fit 12 people, have this unbelievable view and every thing we needed in one location was just incredible. We were even able to host a last-minute graduation dinner with ease. The property and the view made the rain seem like sunshine and rainbows. Ellen is an incredible host not only does she communicate quickly, but with care. She truly wants her guest to have an amazing time.

Great weekend getaway in Maine

I visited this property with a group of friends for a weekend. It’s a great getaway in Maine, beautiful property with a ton of space for activities. We had a blast playing wiffleball, grilling outside, and sitting by the fire. There’s also a local lobster fisherman that dropped off some freshly caught lobsters that turned out to be delicious. Would visit again, highly recommend!

Awesome Spot in Lobster Heaven!

Ellen's place was a perfect location for a low key weekend with friends during a high school reunion. Love all the decor, the home-y feel, and the fantastic views! We spent lots of time on the dock, enjoy some lawn games, grilled, and had a wonderful lobster boil dinner complete with fresh, dock-delivered lobsters. Would love to stay here again!!

The host, Ellen, was wonderful to communicate with - leading up to the stay and once we arrived. Each time we reached out to her, she immediately responded. She also gave us wonderful ideas of places to go and things to do around the area. We lucked out with beautiful weather and took advantage of the delivery service of kayaks and paddle boards to spend time on the water just off the dock. We grilled tons of food for dinners for our large group, but we did have to spend a significant amount of time cleaning the grill as it was quite dirty upon arrival. Otherwise, the kitchen had all that we needed for preparing food for all of us. The views from the house were just incredible. Thank you so much!

Beautiful setting!

This is a beautiful spot -- great views and plenty of space to relax, cook, and play. The dock is wonderful if you have a boat or just want a swimming spot. Things to note depending on the make-up of your group... the stairs are quite steep and shallow; the 4 bedrooms on the 2nd floor of the main house share a standard bathroom; there are 2 fridges, which is great!

Good Service but a bit outdated and far

Ellen was great and communicative and very helpful throughout. The house is a bit outdated which is not evident from the pictures. A lot of the pots and pans were dirty and had to be washed before use. The outside is absolutely stunning! The biggest drawback is how far it is from anything you want to do. It's close to 20 minutes to get to Wiscasset and 45 to get to boothbay etc etc. This was challenging with children. If your plan is to stay at the house more this house is fantastic!

We really enjoyed staying in this large classic Maine home on beautiful coastline full of seals, ospreys and flowers. The house worked well for our combination of two families with 5 children. Amazing Property

The location is amazing. Views are best in Maine. We rented Kayaks that were delivered and picked up from dock. We rented a 22 foot boat and kept at deep water dock. Host was excellent. Provided restaurant recommendations, Kayak rental numbers, had lobster delivered to the house. She is great. Will definitely rent again

Wonderful stay on Westport Island

Our large extended family (young adults to 80+) had an awesome time at this lovely home. The lightening fast internet and smart TV was appreciated by the young adults, and the beautiful view and ample seating was a bonus for all. The dock was perfect for our 26 foot motor boat - which was very useful for zipping over to several of the nearby restaurants in Bath, Robinhood, and Boothbay Harbor. The huge kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and the gas grill was definitely used and enjoyed. Ellen, the host, was very attentive and checked in on us multiple times, and made several useful recommendations. We will definitely return!

A TRULY MAINE COTTAGE EXPERIENCE

This cottage and property holds a very special place in my families heart! We have stayed here several times over the past 10 years and it is like coming home when we walk through the door. The views are spectacular, the house is clean and beautifully decorated, it is well outfitted and extremely comfortable. The wild life is awesome and every day is a wonderful experience. Ellen, the owner is kind and generous with her time and advise and is only an email away if you have a question. She knows many wonderful places to eat around the area as well. I highly recommend this outstanding cottage to anyone who truly wants a special Maine experience.

A favorite family vacation!

We hated to say goodbye to our stay here! This was the perfect spot for our large family and age ranges. The views are the best that we have every experienced at a rental home. Ellen was outstanding in her communication with us and was extremely helpful with her recommendations on restaurants, activities, etc. The outside cooking area was key to our meals - complete with the grill, griddle. lobster pot and picnic tables. We rented a boat for the week and enjoyed having the convenience of our own dock. We had a few toddlers and 5 year olds in our party and they loved the play house, child size Adirondack chairs, and the lawn to romp around on. We couldn't have been happier and plan to book this property again!

Ellen is an amazing host She went out of her way to provide a superior experience; from delicious coffee to fishing poles. The home is older, so be prepared to walk upstairs to get to bedrooms and a few bathrooms. The stairs were the only thing that a couple of our family members had a tough time with. All of the plumbing is updated and both toilets and showers had great water pressure. The water is also filtered with a UV light so we were able to drink from the faucet and their watercolor. There are plenty of places to sit for meals and to visit while enjoying the gorgeous views. There are a few binoculars to use but I would recommend bringing your own set if you have them because there is so much to see. The house is in a remote location, but so are most places in the area, plan on driving about 15-20 mins to get to the grocery store. We were able to connect with a local lobster fisherman and get fresh lobster to cook up at the house. We spent most of our days taking day trips and exploring the Maine coast! Ellen is a wealth of information for places to visit and things to do. I would recommend staying here with your family to create wonderful memories. We traveled for a family vacation with 12 people; 7 adults & 5 children ages 2.5-12. We had so much fun!! Thank you so much Ellen!

Multi Generational Family Vacation

The house and location were perfectly suited for our family. Pictures of the property and views can not capture the real beauty. Wiscasset and Boothes Bay Harbor were great for dining and shopping. Ellen supplied us with excellent recommendations for local dining and activities including a top notch fishing guide who picked us up at the pier on the property. We cooked breakfast on the large outdoor gas griddle, had s,mores around the fire pit and ate several meals outside including our Maine lobster and clam boil. The house well equipped to handle the ten adults and children in our family. Thank you Dana and Ellen.

The Best Summers of My life

The house has the best view on the island. Every morning I wake up to watch the seals play on the rocks below. The birds play in front of the windows as if they where putting on a show. Afterward I like to make breakfast and the kitchen is stocked with everything I need. All the kids like to play outside because there is plenty of ocean front land for outdoor games and picnics. This house is perfect location for exploring Maine. Booth Bay Harbor is a quick drive north and there are many wonderful towns in between to visit. All the bedrooms are unique and comfortable. They all have lots of light and fresh Maine air. There is lots of room for a large family to spread out along the house. The large front porch is my favorite for cocktail hour. At the end of a big lobster dinner my family always makes a big fire on the point to watch the boats come in and end our day truly relaxed. This house has it all!

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME

We have been forturate enough to stay in this wonderful cottage, 8 times, in the past 9 years. It is our favorite place to go and relax. The views are breathtaking. The home is comfortable, charming, clean, beautifully decorated with antiques and beachy cottage furniture & decorations. The wildlifeat the house is wonderful, from the Seals on the ledges to the Cormorants, wild Turkeys, Geese, Eagles, Cardinals, Jays and other small birds. We have even had the pleasure of seeing Deer, Beaver & a Porcupine! We especially like to have a fire in the outside pit, during the cocktail hour, watching the Lobstermen hauling in their daily catch. The fresh Lobsters are wonderful! The house is well outfitted with everything you need, especially in the kitchen. There is room for everyone to have some privacy. The sun room off the kitchen is my favorite spot, to just sit and enjoy this quintessential Maine experience!! The owner, Ellen, is wonderful. She responds quickly to all questions and is friendly and kind. Onc you speak to her you wil feel like you have known her forever. We already have 2015 dates booked!
