This couple was an absolute pleasure to host—kind, thoughtful, and left the place in great shape. They even left behind a half bottle of Tito’s Vodka, which has special meaning to us since “Tito’s” is actually my daughter’s call sign as an F-16 pilot! Their review made our day: “This apt is marvelous! Everything was so bright & super clean, & was better than it looked in the pictures. Would love to just take it around with us as we travel.” Grateful for guests like these.

Ellen and her husband booked the cottage and came a day early. Paul and I were finishing making the beds when they arrived. I had cleaned it earlier in the day. She did book a pet but did not tell us she was bringing 3 dogs. People usually don’t leave that out. I did request that they put the pet covers that we have in the linen closet on the white sofas. She was going to pay me for the extra night directly when she arrived but didn't. She and her husband stayed one night and disappeared the next day. We live right across from the cottage about 60 feet. They did not come by and tell us they had any problems with beds, condition of the house or cleanliness. We received a call 2 days later from her. She told me that the trees made her sick, she complained about the beds and the dogs were restless. She told me she found accommodations with her sister and she would like a refund. I suggested she call and get the reservation cleared from my calendar and if I could get it booked I would give her some money back. Its the first time I’ve had guests behave this way. Sad.
