Ruined holiday
Part of the criteria we requested was Wi-Fi availability. We arrived during a bank holiday and had to find our own way around. The Wi-Fi wasn’t working. I telephoned the following morning and was advised still on holiday. However advise was received on how to reactivate the Wi-Fi. This didn’t work and I said we would leave until tomorrow. I was told there was a balance to be paid and I said I would pay the balance when the manager came to fix the Wi-Fi . Later on that night I was messaged to say don’t go out as a maintenance man was coming to the flat. I advised we were having a meal in a restaurant and weren’t around. I was told to be there as she has paid for it. I left my wife and hurried back to meet him. He stayed half an hour and changed some cables but nothing worked. He left and I went back to the restaurant. Later that night we were told that it was our fault and we have done nothing but complain & to leave tomorrow. The following morning I went to the office but it was still closed. I messaged the manager and was told we are still closed but leave the flat today. I explained we had paid a deposit of around 1 weeks stay but they were telling us to leave after 2 nights. The response was a demand to leave today or other action will be taken. We left and booked into a hotel. Never again will we have anything to do with Genius properties and I have to reconsider Vrbo for allowing them to advertise with them. Vrbo have since returned their fees in full and offered an apology. No apology from Genius.
