Smithy Cottage ist ein liebevoll restauriertes ehemaliges Schmiedehaus aus dem 18. Jahrhundert. Das Cottage liegt im ruhigen Dorf Kirkmichael im Herzen von Highland Perthshire. Der Fluss Ardle ist von einer atemberaubenden Landschaft umgeben und liegt nur eine kurze Autofahrt entfernt. Lovely cottage

Lovely cottage conveniently located in the gateway to the Highlands. We used the cottage as a springboard to all the places we wanted to visit; Perth, Pitlochry, St. Andrews, Balmoral, etc. Great location for accessing hiking opportunities as well.

Everything was wonderful! We had flight delays and got in later than expected, but the lockbox was no problem to get in. My 6yr old daughter loved exploring the secret garden and the corner store had odds and ends but a trip to the larger Co-op got everything for breakfast and dinners in. The driveway was a little tricky to get out of but traffic was always pretty slow. This was a great place to set out from each day and we loved having the fire which was pre-set for an easy start when we arrived. If you’re looking for a quiet out of the way place, this is it!

This former Blacksmith Cottage has been transformed into a beautiful location. Everything we needed was there with all the modern conveniences. Rachael spoiled us with treats and was available anytime we needed her.

This is the most perfect cottage. It is very well maintained and has pretty much everything you need. The owners live very close so if we needed anything they were very helpful. Would definitely recommend it

Good location

Lovely well equipped property, responsive hosts,comfy beds, good location. As it is a restored old cottage you have to be careful not to hit your head on the sloping ceilings. Only small comment is that the conservatory needs to be cleaned. Otherwise a great stay.

We had a lovely time at the cottage, visiting lots of lovely places around and about, the cottage was really nice, we had BBQs in the garden and on a night when it was a bit chilly we sat with the log burner on making it lovely and cosy...as with another review the only criticism is that the conservatory really needed a clean

Wonderful Stay at Smithy Cottage

Smithy Cottage is a perfect place to stay for a small family or group of friends that want to explore Scotland. It is very cozy and comfortable. The location is only a short drive from the A9 and you are able to easily go in any direction to explore. There’s a small shop next door that is great for getting a drink or small snack. The cottage is well fitted to be able to cook every day too. The garden is so green and lovely. Very quiet village. We loved our stay and the hosts Rachael and Mark are fantastic! We highly recommend and hope to be back one day!

Cozy cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Smithy cottage. At first we were taken aback by its location in the centre of the village, yet the cottage was quite private as it was tucked below a bridge, and the village was very quiet. The Village shop next door was a great convenience, and we enjoyed forest and hill walks every day, as there were many trails nearby. The cottage itself had lots of character, with a lovely sun porch, and great view from the counter and stools in the kitchen. It was tastefully decorated .and had all required amenities. We did suggest that the saucepans could do with replacing,, but the kitchen was well equipped otherwise. The driveway was a bit tricky getting in and out, but despite this, we would highly recommend this cottage for rentals, and would happily stay there again if we are ever back this way. Can't wait to come back

We had a wonderful stay at Smithy Cottage. The personal touches that Mark and Rachael made to our stay was much appreciated. Location wise it had it all for us and some really good walks (for the dog) right on your doorstep as well as a friendly and local Village Shop and Pub. The cottage had everything that you need from the kitchen to keeping entertained if it happens to rain. A real home from home.

Smith Cottage, home from home.

Recently returned home from a weeks holiday at Smithy Cottage with my family. The cottage is very well equipped and furnished to an exceptionally high standard. The grounds are exquisite and our dog enjoyed exploring the secret garden. The cottage is well situated to visit a wide and varied number of attractions including Balmoral and Loch Ness. Mark & Rachael are fantastic hosts, and very welcoming. As a family we can’t recommend Smithy Cottage enough and hope to return sometime in the very near future.

A delightful cottage. Highly recommended

A real home from home. Rachel and Mark are excellent hosts and their welcome was very warm and friendly. They left a welcome basket with some delicious treats as well as the essentials of bread and milk. The cottage suited our needs perfectly and is well-stocked for self-catering and extremely comfortable. There is plenty to do in the area and we had a fantastic week here.

Lovely cottage in a very nice village

Perfect location in the Perthshire Highlands for hillwalking, dog walking and general chilling. We went to both village pubs and had two very nice meals. The house was very comfortable, and the garden nice to chill in. It's a traditional cottage refurbished to modern standards. The hosts live nearby. They were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. A brilliant spot for a holiday

Smithy Cottage is owned and run by the Wood Family - Mark, Rachael and their son, Frederick. We only live a short distance away in the same village and are on hand to give local information and insights on visitor attractions and how to live like a local!

We spent around a year lovingly restoring Smithy Cottage to the highest standard of accommodation ready for visitors to beautiful Highland Perthshire. Everything in the cottage is new and fully restored whilst keeping the character of the original Blacksmith's Cottage. There is a large, mature garden with plenty of space for eating out of doors and relaxing to the sound of the River Ardle which runs past the garden.

Smithy Cottage is located in a peaceful rural village, yet still enjoys the amenities of a village shop, cafe and pubs. It's only 20 minutes' drive to either Pitlochry or Blairgowrie for a larger range of shops and restaurants. The cottage is also within easy distance of larger cities for day trips such as Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee.
