This is a classic case of guests booking without reading the listing, or even looking at photographs as is evident here, then berating us for their own oversight. To dismantle those false accusations: 1. Pictures and the description are crystal clear that there is a limited head room on the mezzanine. The listing states 148cm headroom. But you need to read the listing and look at pictures. 2. There is in fact a shelf right behind the bed where you absolutely can put the phone, glass of water or even a whole bottle if you simply looked behind you. It is so obvious, I wonder how you managed to miss it. 3. The whole flat is extremely well lit, because it doesn't get a lot of natural light, so it has a myriad of LED spotlights in every area and layered lighting for more ambience. There are 4 LED lights in the bathroom ceiling and LED warm glow light above the mirrored cabinet a window. Any more lights and one would get blinded by the glare. As for the communal areas, it is a 200years old Victorian building and as with many old buildings it looks a bit tired, but it is not my own building so I cannot take responsibility for it, as expressly stated in the listing. If, allegedly there was a smoke smell in the communal area, even it is strictly a non-smoking building, it is not my fault and it did it not affect the flat whatsoever. Next time Patricia read the listing before you book instead of stabbing the polite, warm and welcoming host in the back for your own lack of diligence. Thank you.

Hi Katy, I am not sure what you mean by dangerous stairs? These are standard wooden stairs and we have applied large anti-slip adhesive mats to every step, landing and even under a rug precisely so they are safe. Perhaps little less wine next time? And by the way towels are not there to take off make up. We do provide cotton wool and Garnier Micellar Rose Water to take off make up. All towels had to be thrown into recycling thanks to you. Such a wasteful behaviour.
