The house is an ideal base from which to explore the wonderful landscape. Nearby you will find Loch Ard, which boasts exciting activities including water sports, wild swimming, many walking trails such as the Loch Ard Sculpture trail, fishing opportunities with permits available locally as well as Loch Katrine where you can hop on-board a lake cruise on the SS Sir Walter Scott or hire a bike and explore on 2 wheels where it is close by the sustran N7 route.
ABERFOYLE is a popular holiday village, with its local amenities, a well stocked Co-op supermarket (open 7am-10pm daily), cafes, pub, chemist, shops, post office, fuel station, a new cycle hire shop and the Scottish wool centre, a regional attraction on the story of wool with live sheep shows, spinning demonstrations and working sheepdogs. The village also boasts one of the most scenic golf courses in Scotland, the Aberfoyle Golf Club, established back in 1890.
The house is ideally positioned just above the main street of the village and a short 10 min walk from the door through the forest up to The Lodge visitors centre in Queen Elisabeth Forest Pk with waterfall, scenic views, cafe, lake & mountain walks &, Go-Ape zip wire experience (one of the longest in the UK). Hill walkers and cyclists can enjoy many wonderful trails across bens and lochs, through Dukes pass and onto Callander, around Loch Lomond. For those who wish to go further afield, thereβs Stirling Castle, Blair Drummond Safari Park, the Falkirk Wheel, Glasgow, or even Edinburgh. Whatever the weather thereβs something for all the family!
