The open living room has a vaulted ceiling and multiple windows looking out towards the Gulf! Downstairs has separate entrance with screened-in porch, outdoor shower & lots of outdoor seating/dining areas! 3rd row location from beach with unobstructed views!! No vehicles on the beach which makes for an almost “private beach” feel!

Upstairs has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths. Downstairs has a separate entrance with an open living area, bunk beds, and a full bathroom. Downstairs also has a screened-in porch.

Come visit and enjoy ALL the outdoor adventures you could want! Watch dolphins, fish from the pier (or from one of our canal, bay or beachside rental homes), surf the waves, kayak, beach comb and soak up the sun and sea air. And after a day of activities, stop by one of the nearby popular hangouts - The West End Marina & Restaurants, The Waterman Seafood Grill and/or Cafe Michael Burger for a fun atmosphere to enjoy snacks, cocktails or meal!

We take clean seriously! When you rent a 979 home, you'll also receive the 'comforts of home' guest welcome starter supply of shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, tp and paper towels, dishwasher and clothes washer pods. We want your stay to be as easy as you do, and the 979 Crew aims to deliver on that commitment. We love our island guests!

🐾 PUP-FRIENDLY:
Bring Fido(s)! We welcome your furry friends (aka family members). Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are allowed at this home, subject to approval and a non-refundable pet fee ($125 for 1 dog, extra $75 for 2) per stay.

WIFI/TV SERVICE:
Our properties include WIFI/Internet and TV service for your streaming services. Due to our location (Island living is a whole other way of life), service may be unpredictable or spotty, and repair times can be delayed. While we will do everything we can to ensure these items are in good working order before your arrival, please note, these services may not be as consistent as they are in your area. So grab your favorite people, ditch the electronics, and spend the day at our beautiful beaches!

979 VACATION PROPERTY SERVICES:
All 979 rental home follow local and state tax rules. Reservations may be booked up to 365 days in advance. Please send inquiry and details if more than a year out as rates and availability may not be updated. Each reservation includes applicable taxes, a cleaning fee, $1M liability protection and $10K damage insurance - and good news, No Security Deposit Required!

CANCELLATION POLICY:
For any new reservation, you may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. Some exceptions may apply for last-minute reservations.

After that, cancel at least 30 days before your check-in and receive a refund in your original form of payment less the booking fee.

Reservations made on 3rd party channels/OTAs such as Airbnb, VRBO, Booking, Hopper etc may be subject to their terms and conditions which may be different than 979's. Please reference the site where you originally reserved your stay.

We had a great time at the beach and loved all the fireworks. The house is beautiful and well equipped with the essentials. Easy distance to Galveston or Jamaica Beach to stores & restaurants.

Some issues

We do have some input on the rental. My husband and I stayed in the downstairs room. The humidity, even with the single air conditioning unit, was unbearable. The floors were wet, and all of our clothing became very damp. We had to hang up our clothes when we arrived home to dry. A dehumidifier is highly recommended! There was a water main break that led to issues with the hot water. Many cold showers. After the main was fixed, the shared upstairs bath had intermittent hot water. We had to call a service technician, who stated the hot water heater needed to be updated. He never returned. The one exit to the upstairs is a fire hazard. Maybe supply emergency window ladders? The one bedroom upstairs has no window coverings. A privacy and room darkening issue. The rules posted on the wall did say to strip the beds. Maybe update that in your texts. And to leave the thermostats at 78°
