THE AREA:
Caloundra is the southern-most town of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast just 90km north of Brisbane’s CBD. The town’s coastline is made up of 7 beaches; Golden Beach, Bulcock Beach, Kings Beach, Shelly Beach, Moffat beach, Dicky Beach and Currimundi so as you can imagine, the ocean plays host to many of Caloundra’s boredom busters.

Only one block/200m from Seagate and popular with families, is Bulcock Beach with its warm paddling pools at low tide, life guard presence from September through to May, great surf break at the point and cool strip of cafes, bars and restaurants just across the road on the Esplanade. The adjoining Happy Valley Park with its playground equipment and BBQs is a popular picnic spot for all ages and is the perfect place to watch the sun melt away behind the Glass House Mountains of an evening.

Connected to Happy Valley Park by a stunning coastal boardwalk with sweeping views of the sparkling blue waters that lead into the Pumicestone Passage and Bribie Island Marine Park, is Kings Beach. Popular with guests of all ages, Kings Beach features a heritage listed bathing pavilion built in 1937, rock pools, gentle beach break with protected swimming areas and $4m foreshore facility; a 25m sea water swimming pool and children’s wading pool with time release fountains.

The Pumicestone Passage is a narrow, shallow estuary made up of tidal channels and sand banks perfect to explore on a stand up paddleboard or kayak. Its placid waters are popular with dolphins, dugong, turtles, a variety of fish species and both migratory and native shorebirds. Stretching 35km from the tip of Bribie Island off the coast of Caloundra in the north to Deception Bay in the south, Pumicestone Passage is recognised as one of the most important bird and marine habitats on Australia’s east coast!

Caloundra’s vibrant arts community is showcased by a 1.7km street art trail which features a number of pieces that convey stories of the coastal community’s heritage. Operating year round, the Caloundra Street Fair markets which are literally at the apartment’s back gate are open every Sunday morning with twilight markets operating during the seasonal holiday periods. Both markets turn the main street into a carnival boasting unique offerings of artisan craft, homewares, art, clothes and delicious food stalls – browse, buy or just stop by to enjoy the atmosphere! The Caloundra Wheel entertains visitors in the cooler months and other major attractions include hinterland towns of Montville and Maleny, Australia Zoo, Aussie World, The Banana Bender Pub (formerly Ettamogah Pub), Big Kart Track and the Queensland Air Museum.

GUEST ACCESS:
Guests will have access to the entire whole floor apartment, single lock up garage and communal garden.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
- We do not accept school leaver groups or bookings for functions such as hens or bucks parties
- Seagate is located on the second floor of a quiet residential complex. As noise travels easily the apartment is best suited to families or small groups
- No additional guests other than those included in the booking are permitted
- In order to maintain respectful relationships with neighbours we ask that all guests move indoors after 9pm. Strictly no loud/offensive music or behaviour is permitted at any time
- Check in from 3pm
- Check out before 10am
- Lift access, wheelchair accessible
- Smoking is permitted on the balcony only, strictly no smoking is permitted within the apartment
- Seagate is not pet friendly
- Seagate is located adjacent to the Caloundra bus terminal. Whilst bus traffic can be heard at times during the day (more so when the air-conditioning is off and the balcony doors are open), this hasn’t been a factor that’s been referenced very often in our guests’ reviews over the past few years.

Comfortable, convenient, well equipped
This is a very comfortable property in an excellent location with great furnishings, equipment level and consumable supplies in the cupboards, which is rare. There is plenty of room with separate kitchen and a large table on the balcony with Weber BBQ, which we used (and left clean). Beds and all linen and towels were quality items. Plus, there was a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine when we arrived! Lauren is incredibly efficient and very responsive to emails. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only slight downside is the bus station next door which generates some noise during the day.

Family getaway weekend
We were all very impressed with the spacious and well-appointed accommodation Seagate apartment offers. It is bright and clean with a beachy yet homely feel and we were very happy with all the extras provided, including toiletries made from natural ingredients in both bathrooms, beach towels for all, a selection of board games and loads of TV channels, plus a variety of condiments and food staples in the fridge and pantry. A bottle of sparkling wine plus chocolates greeted us on our arrival! We particularly appreciated Lauren arranging for an early arrival on the Friday allowing us to make the very most of our weekend there. We would all definitely book Seagate again! Thank you for all the lovely touches, Lauren. With such an ideal location, we had a most comfortable and enjoyable time there over the weekend.

Home Away From Home
We really enjoyed our stay, from start to finish. Lauren was excellent at communicating everything we needed to know to check in and enjoy our stay. The unit was very spacious and comfy, lots of extra things to help make it like home. We had a bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival the fridge had tomato sauce which my husband loved and the pantry was stocked with cooking extras like spices pepper salt sugar etc. They have given a great run down on places to eat and go and we tried out the chosen fish and chips which were so good. We also found two umbrellas at the door which were perfect for our rainy night walk. Thanks so much we loved our stay❤️

Perfect Family Location
As we walked into the room, our minds were at complete ease seeing our little ones feel right at home.Every detail was welcoming from the gift of wine on the bench top to the toys offered for the kids to play with, everyone had something to enjoy. The apartment is in the perfect location, close to Happy Valley Park and the beach. Our boys enjoyed watching the buses come and go from the balcony, while the adults enjoyed the view of the beach from a distance. The apartment is very spacious. The kitchen was a dream to use with every convenient appliance and utensil you may require. We appreciated that there were both bath and beach towels available so we could leave ours at home. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We look forward to coming back again :)

Seven beaches make up the coastline of Caloundra; Golden Beach, Bulcock Beach, Kings Beach, Shelly Beach, Moffat beach, Dicky Beach and Currimundi. For your Caloundra holiday, the ocean is literally your oyster with popular water related activities including cruises, sailing, snorkelling, scuba diving boat hire, windsurfing, jetskiing and surfing. For fishing enthusiasts, a great variety of fish species including tailor, bream, jewfish and prawns can be found in the waterways and cooked on one of the area’s beachside barbecues.
Seagate is located one block back from Bulcock Beach. Patrolled from September until May the beach and adjoining Happy Valley Park is popular for gatherings of family and friends for its popular picnic spots, playground and warm paddling pools to splash in at low tide.
