Best way we have found to see DC, is via Train in and with a narrated bus tour when you arrive. Will save you tons of unnecessary walking, but getting in/out is quite enjoyable to boot when traveling on the VRE.

Taking the Manassas Line from Manassas Station to Washington Union Station.

Directly in front of Union Station is the Fully narrated "Hop-On-Hop-Off Bus. Their buses circulate to all the major monuments and Museums. One arrives every 15-20 and the ticket is good for 24 hours. You wont miss a thing, you can stay in any site as long as you like. You will save a ton of walking and learn a great deal while you listen to tour guide narrate your journey.

A Hidden Gem!

A Hidden Gem! Vicki and Doug were exceptional hosts, thinking of everything you could possibly want or need for an amazing stay. We highly recommend this property! We live in the heart of DC and were looking for a staycation that was close to home, on the water and full of nature. We had bald eagles flying by our bedroom window and our Merlin app was alerting us to a wide array of birds (some classified as rare) all singing to us. There are multiple areas on the property to enjoy the outdoor space and relax. Doug and Vicki invited us on a boat tour of the lake and helped us go out on their kayaks to explore the area.I usually rent an entire house, but the loft feels like you do have your own house. The space is so nice and comfortable, with a lot of extras! On our last day we had rain, but the room was so warm and inviting we enjoyed the down time.As you have seen on their listing they have shared some of their favorite places in the area to enjoy. We timed our visit with “The First Friday” (of the month) in Historic Manassas where they block off the streets and have music, food and activities for the whole family, lots of fun. We also visited 2 Silos, a must see on your visit.Thank you Doug and Vicki, your home is beautiful and we so appreciate your hospitality!! We cannot wait to return!!

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

We love this area for two primary reasons.

First, it provides easy access to the vibrance of our Nations Capital for its architecture and culture.

Secondly, our home is simply beautiful. Views on waterfront just 30-40 min out of a major metro area.

Most people in our area have to drive many hours to arrive at what we have just a few minutes away.

Finally, we were shocked at how many charming restaurants, Breweries and Wineries are in and around Old Town Manassas.

“First Fridays in Manassas”

Streets close down on the First Friday of each month February-November. Multiple bands with street food and local antique shops.

“The Farm Brewery at Broad Run” just 20 min away.
