Cancelation Policy: For the months of April, May, June, July, and August, no full or partial cash refunds will be granted for cancelations made within 30 days of the arrival date. Instead, a credit will be given for the amount of the initial reservation to be applied fully towards another date at the same location, to be used within a year of the original reservation. If you're looking for a place to slow down with your family and truly savor each moment, this is the perfect spot. The home is beautifully equipped, with a paradise-like kitchen that makes cooking a joy. We spent our days fishing, kayaking, and enjoying peaceful picnics outdoors—everything you need for a relaxing escape is right here. What made it even more special was the thoughtful and caring service from the owner, who made sure every detail was taken care of. A truly wonderful break from the everyday, and a place to take a deep breath and reconnect.

Our experience at Carolyn's lighthouse was great. The owner is easy to communicate with, and quick to respond. We found the property easily. It's a nice secluded property away from tourists and crowds. The only other people we saw were the owners, whose home shares the property. The house is updated nicely inside, and everything we used (AC, stove, TVs, washer/dryer, etc.) all worked as expected. Our daughter loved to play in the small pool, and we checked out the tidal creek at the end of the property. Being centrally located to Sneed's Ferry and Topsail meant we had short trips to seafood and fishing in Sneed's Ferry, and beach access in Topsail/Surf City. The house is near rt 210, the main road that takes you to the beach, so it's a quick trip to the Foodlion, surf/gift shops, Pelican's SnoBalls, and a number of restaurants. We had a great stay, and if we find ourselves visiting Topsail beaches again, we'd be happy back at Carolyn's lighthouse.

Beautiful place, perfect location

Rick is a wonderful host, he made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The house is cozy and well stocked, the porch is great. I don’t think my mom and aunt left the porch the entire time we were there. The theater room, that can be viewed from the comfy outdoor furniture or the heated pool, was definitely one of our favorites. We sat with the kids after dark and watched a family movie, after sitting around the fire that Rick was polite enough to get started for us. In addition, we were minutes from the beach and local eats, but other than a few surf shops the area isn’t touristy at all, very down home and comfortable. But we drove just a little way down the road to surf city and Wilmington where we found a large variety of shopping and restaurants. Plenty of things to do. Very peaceful stay, thanks again Rick!

Retired Navy Chief. I moved here from Norfolk Virginia in 2013 to live the quite life away from the traffic and the madness of city life. If you're not familiar with Navy Chiefs, we are the backbone of the Navy and we make things happen. Once a Chief always a Chief. No better friend no worse enemy. But don't worry, my wife keeps me grounded and even keel. We both have spent many years abroad and love meeting new people and learning about different cultures.
This is the best property out there. I have a lot of experience in the hospitality industry and I know what it takes to be a 5 star facility. I have gone above and beyond to anticipate your every need. This is a new property and a lot of effort has gone into making it has comfortable as any place your have ever stayed. Please, if we have missed are mark any way, please let us know. I believe you'll find us very responsive. We want you to feel like this a home away from home.

The Topsail area has the feel that you would expect from North Carolina coastal living. It is a mixture of Key West, Outer Banks, and Myrtle Beach without the traffic or the crowds. Within minutes of the cottage, there are restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, surf shops, and the local Food Lion. Sneads Ferry being a small fishing community, you can still find local fish markets with the catch of the day. In August, Sneads Ferry hosts the annual Shrimp Festival. For golfers, North Shores Golf Course is a well maintained course with scenic views only 5 minutes away.

The unique benefit of this property is space and seclusion. We may not be sitting on the beach but we are on the water. If you have a boat or jet skis, you don't have go any farther than the end of the driveway to get to the ocean or beaches. The nice thing is though, you're not competing or waiting in line somewhere just to put into the water.
