We enjoy when our travels take us to unique, memorable places and after many visits to Chippewa over the years to spend time with family to celebrate holidays, weddings, anniversaries and other special events, we realized what a special place it is and wanted to be a more permanent part of this unique lake community. The residents are super friendly and involved in keeping Chippewa Lake the special place it is. It truly continues to hold the small-town charm of a bygone era. Friends and family members fondly recall summers spent here when they were kids, renting one of the quaint lake cottages and riding the rollercoaster and ferris wheel at the Chippewa Lake Amusement Park that opened in 1878 and closed in 1978. Just recently that land was bought by Medina County with plans to transform it into a nature park, so we're all looking forward to that. Chippewa Lake also happens to be Ohio's largest natural glacial lake formed 14,000 years ago, making it one of Ohio's hidden gems. When you leave Chippewa, you'll immediately want to begin planning your next visit back here.
