This house was a gem in the woods, and very well appointed: modern kitchen and bathrooms. Although two other houses are visible through the fence, there was no noise to be heard. We took our dogs on the trip, and they enjoyed the space to run and sniff. The road to the house is also good for a walk. Kelsey was very responsive to our questions.
To know: the fence doesn't connect behind a copse of trees but it's out of sight of dogs and kids. It's a 'horse pasture' fence so if you have dogs or kids that like to explore, they may be able to crawl through or under. Just keep an eye on them.
Also to know: in addition to the existing front porch, a screened-in porch was added and it's probably 30 x 15? There's a seating area with fireplace and a dining table to seat 10.
If you plan on staying in the loft, be aware that the ladder is pretty steep, but safe. We were a couple (bedroom 1 with in suite bath), my mother in law (bedroom 2), and another couple who slept in the loft (I'm older than they are). There's a hall bathroom too.
The house would be too big for one couple, unless you really like your space, but two couples or a family would be perfect.
To Highlands, the main road is challenging to drive - lots of curves and switchbacks - but it's only about 10 minutes on that road, and15-20 minutes to the center of town (Highlands) from the house. If you know the area, the house is on the other side of town from the 'gorge road'.
