I recently had the misfortune of booking a VRBO rental that turned out to be a complete nightmare. It's unfortunate that I have to write this negative review, but it's crucial to warn others about the abysmal experience I had during my stay.
First and foremost, the communication with the property owner was atrocious. It was incredibly difficult to get ahold of them, and their response time was painfully slow. When you're relying on a host to address issues or concerns, it's vital to have prompt and effective communication, but that was severely lacking in this case.
The rental was located in a run-down part of town, which was a major disappointment. The area was sketchy and didn't feel safe, especially when returning to the property at night. It's essential for property owners to provide accurate descriptions of their location to avoid misleading potential guests.
Upon arrival, it became clear that the property was not well-maintained. Cobwebs were scattered in the corners of several rooms, giving a sense of neglect and poor cleanliness standards. It was apparent that the property hadn't received a thorough cleaning in quite some time.
To make matters worse, several outlets in the rental were non-working. This inconvenience created an unnecessary hassle, as we had to constantly juggle and prioritize which devices we could charge at any given time. Such a basic amenity should be in proper working order, and the lack of attention to detail was evident.
The lack of extra bedding and towels was highly disappointing. We had booked the rental for five nights, expecting the appropriate provisions for our stay. However, we were met with a severe shortage of essential items, making our stay uncomfortable and inconvenient. It's simply unacceptable for a rental property to lack such basic necessities.
Given the multitude of issues we encountered, we were left with no choice but to cut our stay short. We booked the rental for five nights but ended up staying for just one night. The overall condition of the property and the numerous inconveniences we experienced made it impossible for us to tolerate an extended stay.
In conclusion, my experience at this VRBO rental was nothing short of a disaster. The hard-to-reach host, the run-down part of town, the cobwebs in the corners, non-working outlets, and the lack of extra bedding and towels were all major letdowns. I strongly advise potential guests to steer clear
