A Small private room with a good 140 x 200 cm bed for max 2. persons. Our guests have access to a shared bathroom, shared kitchen facilities and kitchen table. Our Guests are welcome to use our washmashine and dryer without any extra costs. They also can enjoy for example the morning sun with a cop of coffee or tea , by sitting outside on our nice Terrace.

Our home is in Mosfellsbær, beautiful area just 20 min. drive from Reykjavík city center. Mosfellsbær is a quiet and cozy neighbourhood. Guest share facilities with other family member, Which are me and my daughter which is 12 years old and our cute 3 year old dog Nói who as other family members is very friendly :). Nói is a breed which is imunitty free.

Our home is NON SMOKING one , including NON SMOKING on the outside Terrace. The shared kitchen is with a dishwasher and refrigerator/freezer. And the shared Bathroom is with a combination Tub/Shower.

The neighborhood is family friendly. Playground in viewing distance. Only 5 min. walking distance to a outdoor and indoor swimming pool with hot tubs, sauna's and 3 water slides, there is also access to a gym. A good golf course in only 10 min. walking distance away by the sea with a beautiful view. The nature is beautiful, mountains, ocean, and many nice walking paths. There are two small commercial centers only 1,5 km (0.60 miles) away (within a reasonable walking distance) - with all necessary service, i.e. supermarkets (best price), bakery, petrol station, pharmacy, library, restaurant, Pizza and more.

The bus station is 300 m (2 min) away and there you can take a direct bus downtown Reykjavik and to other places. To get to downtown Reykjavik, it takes only 25 min. with the bus or 15-20 min. with a private car.

Mosfellsbaer (Mosfellsbær) is situated close to the main ring road to the west/north and south/east of Iceland, and therefore our apartment is perfectly situation for great day trips in the country side - with no time wasted on traffic in the city center (and no traffic lights to get on the main ring road). Within 10 min. drive in the same direction as Thingvellir, our Nationality Park, there is a nice horse rental and in the same area was the home of our Nobel Prize winner for literature in 1955, Halldór Laxness, his home Gljúfrasteinn is a museum .

Distances: Thingvellir, National Park (33 km), Geysir (87 km), Gullfoss (97 km), Blue Lagoon (57km).

Excellent Stay

Our recent VRBO stay was a delight, thanks to our exceptional host. She was incredibly attentive from the moment we arrived, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. She graciously opened up her beautiful home to us. She took the time to help us pronounce words in her native language, adding a unique and immersive cultural experience to our stay. Her warmth and hospitality left a lasting impression, and we sincerely appreciated her kindness. Without a doubt, this is a place we would eagerly return to, as it encapsulates the essence of a truly memorable and enriching travel experience.

Hotesse charmante et très sympathique qui nous a bien conseillé sur les sites à visiter, les itinéraires et les magasins à proximité. Si nos pas nous ramènent en Islande, nous ne manquerons pas de relouer chez elle et surtout de conseiller à notre entourage la chambre qu'elle met à disposition dans sa maison. La cohabitation est discrète et conviviale et la maison est impeccable. Super choix pour y passer 2 à 3 jours.

Sweet family and a warm home

This was a really cool place, I really enjoyed my stay here. This was hosted by a mother and her daughter, who were super nice. We had a great conversation for the few hours that we were there, and she helped us find some things to do nearby the next day. My girlfriend said the same thing, she really liked the family. Very sweet people. The room was as described, it was just enough space for the two of us. It had a very modern bathroom/shower space, and I would definitely stay here again. My girlfriend cooked for everyone, which was awesome that she let us use her kitchen and share the dining space. I can't say enough about the awesomeness of our host.

Like at home!

We have spent 3 nights at Signy's home. We arrived during the night because our fligh to Reykjavík was very late: she was waiting for us and she also had prepared a little snack. We have felt like at home: the room is little but super nice and comfortable. The house in super clean and warm. Toilet and the other rooms of the house are shared with Signy, her daughter and them little tender dog. In the fridge we had a space dedicated to us. Signy was very discreet but super super helpful to give us informations and raccomandations about the country, the places to visit etc. It was a pleasure chatting with her. The house is not far from Reykjavík and we could visit the city and other interesting places: the Golden Ring and the peninsula at the south of Reykjavík. Thank you very much for your hospitality, Signy! A hug to you (and a cuddle to Noi)! Marek and Mariachiara

I am a mom living with my 12 year old daughter in Mosfellsbær and our funny, kind and beautiful three year old Dog. I have a Bachelordegree in Preeschool teaching, and a Bachelordegree in Theology. I am also a Writer and a Coach. We love to spent time together, travel and enjoy life :).

I wanted to have a home near to my Capital City Reykjavík were I grew up in, but at the same time more private, away from car traffic and noice and we prefer close touch to the Nature, that´s why we live in Mosfellsbær :) This is a Family Local nice area.

We love our home because it is on the first floor, no stairs just straight walk into our apartment. We love the open space and the connection to our private terrace. To sit on the Terrace with a cup of coffee and enjoying the morning sun in the summer time :)
