Located an easy 200 meters from Playa Chaman (a beautiful beach connected to Ballena National Park and the famous Whales Tail Beach) in Uvita, the Poolside Bungalow at Dharma Bum Bungalow has everything guests want in a visit to Costa Rica.

Important: Our properties are protected by a digital trust platform that enables Hosts, Operators and Guests to confidently transact in the short-term rentals space. Please note that once you have booked, you will be contacted by a representative to verify the reservation. Please make sure this is completed prior to check-in. Failure to do so may result in the reservation being canceled.

Important: We are committed to protecting our properties and keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations, which is why you will be asked to complete our independent verification.

Please note: Before your booking begins, you will need to verify your details with us to complete your booking. You will be contacted via email and/or text to complete the verification.

You will also be given the choice between paying a refundable deposit or buying a non-refundable damage waiver. We suggest you buy the damage waiver as this protects you in case you cause accidental damage during a booking.

Every vacation rental managed by Osa Property Management/Costa Rica Las Villas will have the following provided:

There is a cost (~$5) to enter the National Park entry at Playa Chaman.
One of the advantages of reserving this great property with Osa Property Management, is the professional assistance and the appropriate level of communication and support from our local and knowledgeable staff.

We will assist you with booking your tours, securing your rental car or scheduling in-home services, such as a private chef or a massage. An Osa Property Management Representative will meet you at our office in Uvita (less than 5 minutes away), and escort you to the bungalow for check-in.

Guests will meet with an Osa Property Management representative at check-in and at check-out. Osa Property Management will also be available from 7 am - 9 pm via WhatsApp group chat.

The Property is located in Uvita near to Playa Chaman - approximately a 1-2 minute walk away. There are plenty of little restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. Uvita "centro" is about a 5 minute car ride away.

Uvita is one of the Central Pacific's best kept secrets. The beaches are beautiful, the hills are lush, wildlife is abundant and its the perfect place to surf, horseback ride or just relax. Add a handful of great restaurants and there's really just one thing missing from Uvita: crowds. If you are looking for a beautiful beach destination that is far less developed than Manuel Antonio, Uvita is a fantastic alternative. The highlight is Marino Ballena National Park, featuring the famous sandy "Whale Tail" where migrating humpback whales can be seen just offshore. You can whale watch, dolphin watch or snorkel.

Uvita also makes a great base for exploring Dominical (12 miles North) which is a fun, funky hippie and counterculturist enclave with great shops, dining, live music, candlelight yoga, spas, bars and beach. The tiny town of Ojochal is 9 miles to the South and is know as one of the best foodie town in Costa Rica. Ojochal also offers easy access to Playa Ventanas, a small and beautiful beach famous for its sea caves.

Guests will meet with Osa Property Management for their initial access to the property. Guests will receive a keypad code to enter the property (it's gated). Each floor has its own access and its own key.
Dharma Bum Poolside shares the swimming pool with the upstairs Studio. The Studio has a separate entrance.

The upstairs is accessible via a set of stairs that are outside (see photos).

Bedroom #1 has a full-size bed and A/C.
Bedroom #2 has a 'double+single' bunk bed.

The swimming pool is shared with the studio unit located on the second floor.

Highlights include:
PERFECT LOCATION in Uvita. A short 2-3 minute walk to the beach. A coffee shop about 100 meters to the south of the property and other restaurants within a short car ride away (or a 5-10 minute walk). "Downtown" Uvita is approximately five minutes away by car, where guests can enjoy more restaurants and bars, or if needed, a bank, a pharmacy, a bakery or other shops.

Uvita is the launching site for the areas most popular tours, including: whale watching, deep sea fishing, horseback riding, hiking or chocolate making.
Dharma Bum Poolside is easily accessible by any type of vehicle (or bike or walking). Please note
Uvita does not have UBER and private taxis are not always available.

Please contact Osa Property Management if you would like to secure private transportation during your time at the property and/or transportation to/from San Jose International Airport (or any other airport).

Lovely and sweet - great beach access
Overall a sweet lovely place right next to beach. Had some initial communication challenges with the owner but we worked it out in the end. They set up a whatapp thread for the guests which was helpful. Appreciate the cleanliness. That is the most important thing to me. Thank you! Miki

This place is set not far from the beach. The grounds were ok, small, not really private and quite wet. Note that the pool is available to both renters on the top floor as well as the bottom. This would really invade privacy for people on the first floor if they did not know the other people. The kitchen was nice, however we encountered ants. The beds seemed small…maybe not two queens, but full beds. Also, there wasn’t a good defined place to park. It would be awkward if we had more people stay with us because there wasn’t enough seats in the living area. Although there was a kitchen there were only a few barstools…no table and chairs.

The property was conveniently close to the beach. There was a coffeehouse opened Thursday to Sunday that was incredible right near there. There was enough towels and sheets. The property felt very secure and safe. The beach was an easy walk. However there is a fee to get onto the beach. Which can add up. I can’t say anything negative about the house other than the water pressure for my shower was not good. The TV needs to be replaced because there’s something wrong with the speaker. Also, you can’t leave food out on the counter of the kitchen because these little teeny tiny bugs will come. We struggled with the key to open and close the sliding door. The maintenance guy with his keys made it look so easy. But we could not lock it from the inside without struggle. There is an upstairs to be rented and a downstairs to be rented. We stayed it downstairs. But these are minor things to how beautiful and amazing the house was to stay in. I would recommend this house still with all these minor issues. And I would stay inside this house again if I was to come back.

Short walk to the beach
This place was great. Uvita's beaches are protected parks so this place is about as close as you can possibly get to the beach. There are little restaurants walkable around the house. It is easy access to everything you need. The property was just the right size and to have our own pool was great to hop in and cool off in as well. If you want to be near the beach this is the place.
