Our favourite places in the neighbourhood
Less than 5 min walk
RESTAURANTS
• Chez Alex WHENZHOU: 24, rue de Belleville
A Chinese canteen that has become an institution in Belleville. Typical, generous and affordable dishes. This is an opportunity to make culinary discoveries. Be careful, the address is a victim of its own success, it is better to book!
• Le Fleuve Rouge (our favourite): 1, rue Pradier
A delicious and friendly little Thai restaurant. The owners are adorable, the decor very cute and the prawns with ginger to die for!
• God Bless Broccoli: 54, rue Piat
Delicious thin-crust (and organic!) pizzas with quality ingredients. We savor their names before savoring the rest.
• La Brasserie Bretonne: 29, rue de Belleville
Wide choice of salted and sweet crêpes, all very good. As its name suggests, it is also a brewery. You can taste local beers while soaking up the lively atmosphere of the neighborhood.
All of these restaurants have several vegetarian options and the first three offer their take-out meals.
BARS
• Le Toutanou (our favourite): 65, rue Rébeval
A neighborhood bar a little set back from the bustle, warm and authentic that we highly recommend. The owner is adorable and the atmosphere relaxed. Ideal for enjoying a drink after a walk in the Buttes Chaumont.
• La Brasserie Bretonne: 29, rue de Belleville
See above.
• Aux Folies: 8 rue de Belleville
Another institution in Belleville whose terrace is never empty in summer or winter. An ideal place if you want to watch the passers-by or just animation.
The nearest SUPERMARKET is the Franprix, 45 rue Rébeval.
The BOULANGERIE La baguette des Pyrénées, 36 avenue Simon Bolivar, is the one we recommend, by far the best in the area in our opinion.
THE PARKS
• The Buttes Chaumont
Essential, we advise you to discover it 😊
To run, to stroll, to picnic, there is no better. A lake, an island, artificial waterfalls… It is also the Parisian park that has the greatest variety of trees.
• Belleville Park
Less known and certainly smaller, but one of the most beautiful views of Paris from the top of the park!
