Boothbay Harbor is home to the friendliest folks in Maine. Easy drive to Rockland for lunch and the Farnsworth Art Museum. Wiscasset is nearby and fun for antique hunting and dinner out. Damariscotta is 20 minutes away and the river views are spectacular; we eat once a week at The Damariscotta River Grill! Great shopping there too. Boothbay restaurants are great especially Coastal Prime $$$ and Tug Boat $$ and the China Sea$$$. Make sure to take the day boat trip to Monhegan Island, 12 miles off shore, just for lunch, art hunting, the views and local brew! Incredible views from the boat trip out and back! July 20-Sept 25 sunning (and swimming!) is great at Pemaquid Beach, private paid parking and very clean sand, about 35 mins away.
