The owner and I had messaged a few times to discuss some questions i had about parking and checking in early. Initially, he was friendly and helpful. We got in town around two. In text he told me that if the cleaning person finished early we could check in. He’d given me the checkin code, so i ran up to the room to see if it was ready. The person was there and told me everything was finished besides the towels in the dryer.
I texted Sean to tell him the cleaning person said she was finished and asked if he was still good with us checking in. He said he had some things to do to the place and to give him 20 minutes. Shortly thereafter he texted and said it was ready. Once inside, we were very disappointed! The place has a strong odor. The photos on VRBO do not represent what the place is actually like. If your standards are Motel 8, you’ll feel at home! The couch in the VRBO photos has been replaced with an old, worn out one, bedding is worn, faded and outdated, downstairs TV didn’t work, toilet handle was broken, the ceiling fan had a lot of dust and grime, and the thermostat showed 81 degrees INSIDE. I immediately texted Sean to let him know our concerns and that we weren’t staying. He become accusatory, threatening and refused to speak with my husband to come to a fair resolution. We were shocked at how quickly Sean’s attitude went from helpful to EXTREMELY insulting and defensive. Read the other poor reviews and be aware that Sean is a poor host!!
