Charming Village Cottage for 8 | Close to Tenby
The beautiful, detached Churchside Cottage is nestled in the small, rural village of St Florence, a mere 3 miles from popular Tenby. Sleeping a group of 8 people, this characterful, cosy holiday spot is the perfect place to relax after beach days on South Pembrokeshire's bustling coast. With a stunning mix of traditional and modern features, such as a log burner and private off-road parking, this is a fine example of a traditional Welsh cottage that's sure to delight your group during your stay.
Welcome to Churchside Cottage, presented by Salt & City Stays. As you step through the charming side gate at the front of the property and into the front porch, you're greeted by the inviting lounge area. The rich parquet flooring glows warmly, especially when the log burner is alight within the limewashed chimney breast. Comfortable seating, including a sofa and two armchairs, is arranged around a central coffee table, creating a cosy space to relax. A wall-mounted Smart TV offers entertainment, while the large window bathes the room in natural light.
Adjacent to the lounge, through an open plan archway, lies the kitchen and dining area. The parquet flooring continues here, complementing the rustic charm. Beneath the other front window, the dining table with two traditional benches invites communal meals. The kitchen is well-appointed with an impressive electric range, Belfast sink with drainer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, and Nespresso coffee machine. A small utility space beyond houses an additional sink, washing machine, dryer, microwave, and a spacious American-style fridge freezer.
Moving towards the rear of the cottage, a tiled area features a convenient downstairs WC, a large bench, and a coat rack, the boot room, if you like. A few steps lead up to the sunroom, illuminated by a skylight and glazed wall, with patio doors opening to the outdoor space. Furnished with a sofa and chair that can be used both indoors and outdoors, this room offers a serene spot to unwind. Adjacent to the sunroom, a bright study area doubles as an additional sleeping space with a sofa bed.
Ascending the wooden staircase from the lounge, you'll find the sleeping quarters. The master bedroom, to the right of the stairs, is a spacious retreat with two 12-pane sliding sash windows overlooking the quaint street. It features a comfortable double bed, ample storage, a large mirror, and steps down into an en-suite shower room with WC. The second bedroom offers cosy bunk beds and storage, with a small window, again to the front of the property. The third bedroom is another bright double room with yet again the same sash window facing the front, complete with a wardrobe and large wall mirror.
A family bathroom is located on a half landing between the ground and first floors. It includes a bath with overhead shower, WC, wash hand basin with mirror above, and a towel rail.
Stepping outside from the sunroom, the patio area is perfect for barbecues or evening drinks, leading to a small lawn. The garden is bordered by the historic grade II listed church of St Florence, lending the cottage its name. Beyond the lawn, steps descend to a private off-road parking bay for guests for one car.
Churchside Cottage is nestled in the picturesque village of St Florence, a past winner of the coveted Wales in Bloom trophy. The village exudes charm with its pretty stone-walled cottages and tranquil atmosphere. Despite its peaceful setting, it's conveniently located just 3 miles from the historic towns of Tenby and Manorbier, as well as the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline.
St Florence offers a range of local amenities. You'll find a family and dog-friendly pub: The Sun Inn, offering hearty meals and a warm welcome. A well-stocked Spar convenience store caters to your daily needs, and Bramleys Tea Room serves delightful breakfasts and lunches, just a short stroll away.
The area boasts numerous attractions. Manor House Wildlife Park offers close-up experiences with endangered species in spacious enclosures. Heatherton World of Activities provides a plethora of activities, including archery, go-karting, and paintball. For dinosaur enthusiasts, The Dinosaur Park features life-sized models and themed activities.
With its blend of traditional charm, modern comforts, and a prime location in the heart of Pembrokeshire, Churchside Cottage offers an ideal base for exploring the rich heritage and natural beauty of the region.
Guests at Churchside Cottage have exclusive access to the entire property throughout their stay. This charming home is solely yours, with no shared spaces—perfect for privacy and relaxation.
You'll be provided with all necessary details for a smooth and easy contactless check-in before your arrival. The cottage is arranged over two floors, with bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper level and living spaces downstairs, accessed via a traditional wooden staircase.
Private off-road parking foe one car is conveniently located at the rear of the property, down a few garden steps.

Saundersfoot is celebrated for its expansive, clean beach, making it a favorite spot for swimming, sailing, and fishing. The village has undergone significant revitalization, enhancing its appeal with a variety of shops, restaurants, and the scenic Saundersfoot Harbour, which hosts boat excursions and offers picturesque coastal views.
The surrounding area also offers numerous attractions, including the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, renowned for its stunning coastal paths and diverse wildlife.
For family fun, just a short drive away is Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, a popular family destination featuring a variety of animals, vintage fairground rides, and indoor and outdoor play areas. While Pembrokeshire does offer public transport options, including local bus services and the Fflecsi on-demand bus service , Salt & City Stays highly recommends having your own vehicle during your visit. This will allow you to fully explore and appreciate the diverse attractions and natural beauty that Pembrokeshire has to offer at your own pace. Relying solely on public transport may limit your ability to reach some of the more secluded and picturesque spots in the region.
