Set within the AONB of Bodmin Moor, The Watermill is a 300 year old stone cottage converted sympathetically in recent years to provide a comfortable and spacious holiday retreat in a peaceful, unspoilt and natural setting.
The Watermill is accessed via its own private driveway and parking area. Set over three floors, the entrance to the lower floor is from the parking area and provides a stairway to the central floor and main living area comprising kitchen, dining and living space, with door to a large sitting out decked area.
Another set of stairs leads to the top floor and large bedroom with Kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom with bath and shower.
Set within the boundary of Bodmin Moor, which is recognised as a dark sky landscape, The Watermill is also an ideal setting for walkers with many walks available in the immediate and local vicinity.
The property is situated on the eastern boundary of Bodmin Moor twixt Launceston and Liskeard on the B3254. Locally, approximately 2 1/2 miles, Minions and The Cheesewring plus Sharptor are ideal for walking enthusiasts. For watersports and cycling, Siblyback Lake is about 15 minutes as is the pretty Golitha Falls. The Tamar valley also offers some beautiful scenery, trails and National Trust opportunities.
For coastal adventures East and West Looe on the south coast is about 30 minutes but a pretty train ride from Liskeard to the resort, along the river estuary, is an alternative. The north coast beaches are about 45 minutes and Widemouth Bay being one of the nearest, is a quieter option than the more well known beaches along that coastline.
For more cultural experiences there are many references to be found in the area to the late Poet Laureate, John Betjeman, and for the Launceston poet, Charles Causley, there is The Causley Way through the town with points of interest. Closer to home, just a mile or so at Upton Cross, Sterts Theatre is an awning covered open-air theatre with various productions for your entertainment. Hidden Valley, about 15 minutes towards Launceston, is also a good day out for all ages.
