Laguardia is the largest village in the region of Rioja Alavesa and one of the most stunning. It is a place known throughout the world for its fine wines as well as the birthplace of Samaniego, the renowned fabulist. The village is featured on the Spainish tourism authorities website as one of the county's most spectacular and was recently voted one of the most beautiful places in the world by National Geographic Magazine. Weather guests are interested in architecture, history, eno tourism, wildlife, hiking, or simply exploring a lesser known region of Spain. Guests also have Logroño about 15/20 minutes away by car or bus. Logroño is the Capital of La Rioja and full of fantastic restaurants and things to do for all ages.
The house is located within the walls of Laguardia's old town, on its most unchanged street. You will be staying in a fine example of the raw and beautiful architecture abundant throughout the village. We have restored it with love, care, and respect to the character of the building itself.
The property is unique and full of quirks, which I hope you will enjoy finding as much as we have. I provide home comforts, such as shampoo, shower gel and hair conditioner, so you can arrive, relax, and unwind.
The property is a traditional stone townhouse, and sleeps a maximum of six guests.
The house is comprised of the mezzanine bedroom, on the 3rd floor. The 2nd floor has two double bedrooms and a bathroom, with a claw footed bath and shower.
On 1st floor, guests will find a fully equipped kitchen, Samsung dishwasher and fridge/freezer, rangemaster oven, as well as cooking and cleaning essentials. On the same floor guests will find the lounge, with a smart television, books and boardgames. A sofa bed is also available in this space if guests should require it, converting it into a separate sleeping area.
Finally, on the ground floor, the gem and centre of the home is a traditional Txoko dining space. The Txoko comes fully equipped with a dining table and seating and place settings for up to six guests. The space boasts wood burning fire place and a kitchenette with hot/cold running water. There is also a 9kg whirlpool washer/dryer (free) and a space to hang clothes. Guests will also find a modern toilet and shower room. It has a stunning rain/waterfall shower and an independent boiler.
In the warmer months, guests can move the Txoko benches outside the house, open the barn style doors, and sit in the winding, cobbled street. Cooled by the breeze coming up from the bodegas, guests will be able to experience the village like a true Laguardian.
