Northdene Cottage is a detached, double fronted old fisherman's cottage, full of character and charm and less than two minute's walk from the sea, in the beautiful seaside town of Deal. Built in the 1880s, the two bedroom cottage is beautifully decorated throughout, with rich F&B colours and vintage furniture combined with lovely little touches in every room, creating a stylish and comfortable home. There is a very sunny, secluded walled garden full of plants and a free private parking space. Northdene Cottage sleeps four people, with one king sized bedroom and one double. The cottage has a free dedicated private parking space to the rear of the property, with direct access through the back garden if required. Alternatively there is plenty of free onstreet parking directly outside the front of the house and on neighbouring streets. There is superfast fibre optic broadband throughout the house and garden, suitable for home working and video calls, along with a large dining table for WFH. The kitchen has a washing machine and a gas hob. It is stocked with essentials like tea, fresh coffee, sugar, porridge oats and granola. The walled courtyard garden is filled with lovely greenery, including olive trees, vines and a beautiful fig tree, a small grassy lawn, and is a real suntrap in the afternoon and early evening. It has a colourful John Lewis outdoor seating set for four people, with a further picnic bench for al fresco dining which seats up to 6. The garden is strung with mains-powered festoon lights throughout which create a lovely ambience into the evening. The large bathroom has a beautiful freestanding roll top bath, along with a separate shower which has both an overhead rain showerhead and an adjustable height head on a rail. Bathroom essentials are supplied so you can relax and enjoy your stay. Guests have full access to all of the house and garden, except for the airing cupboard which is used as storage. Other things to note: It is important to note that as with many of the older properties in this area, the staircase of this house is extremely steep and narrow, so caution is advised for those less mobile. Small children will also need to hold on tight! Towels and linen are provided, including a hammam beach towel for each guest. The cottage has central heating throughout, with a wood burning stove in the living room which guests are welcome to use between November and March. In the hotter summer months the house tends to stay nice and cool. Northdene Cottage is located on a pretty row of houses, only two rows back from the sea. The beach is less than 100m away so is only a two minutes walk, and from there the vibrant town centre of Deal is just a short stroll away. The house would suit couples, a family or a group of friends looking for a seaside getaway. There is a fantastic independent pub just around the corner, The Lighthouse. For those wishing to cycle or walk, there is a beautiful coastal cycle and walking path that runs along the entire beach front and takes you to Walmer Castle, quiet beaches, into the heart of Deal, or in the other direction to the pretty village of Kingsdown just before the White Cliffs begin.
