Guest Access:
The apartment is located in the old town, in the center of the city, it is a ground floor in a residential building.
The Neighborhood:
The Old Town of Seville, one of the largest in Europe, is the main travel attraction area in Seville with more than 215,000 visitors daily, half of them for leisure or work, to which we must add the trips that are made. They produce from outside the city, mainly by private vehicle.
The Casco Antiguo district is full of streets with narrow, cobbled sections, some with a single platform and others with narrow and inaccessible sidewalks. It is an area with great heritage and cultural value and full of commercial, hospitality and tourist activity, in addition to residential activity. It also has different schools and institutes.
In this district, in recent years, a difficult coexistence between private vehicles, bicycles, personal mobility vehicles and pedestrian mobility, the most common and priority in the area, has been observed. This causes serious accessibility problems, and damage to the heritage value of the environment.
This situation has been revealed in studies such as the Universal Accessibility Plan, the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, the PGOU or the bicycle master program.
Since 2017, the entire district has been declared zone 30, and therefore pedestrian and bicycle priority has been established. Likewise, in recent years, investments have been made in redevelopments that have involved the total pedestrianization of roads or the implementation of single platform models to guarantee universal accessibility.
Getting Around:
The center of Seville is not too big. It is easy to walk to all points of interest.
If necessary, taxis are a convenient way to get around. Although they cost more than public transportation, they are not as expensive either.
Be careful if you plan to drive in the historic center as it is made up of narrow one-way streets with many access and parking restrictions. Parking in the center costs around €20 - €25 per day.
Renting a bicycle can also be a good option to move quickly and at your own pace. But keep in mind that part of the charm of Seville is walking through its beautiful streets.
