Region: Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Town: Blaenau Ffestiniog, a wonderful old slate town, is ideally positioned to explore the Snowdonia National Park. There is a wide variety of stores, bars, and restaurants. One of the primary local draws is Zip World Slate Caverns, the longest and fastest zip line in the world and a fantastic underground adventure. Since UNESCO designated the slate mines as a world historic site, tourists can now take fascinating subterranean tours to witness mining as it was done in the past. 13 miles of the renowned narrow gauge Ffestiniog mountain railway also pass through the Snowdonia National Park on its way to Porthmadog, a harbour town. In addition to nearby family-friendly beaches, Portmeirion village—famous for its architecture and the setting of the iconic TV show The Prisoner—is nearby.
