Town: West Bay is located at the western end of the dramatic pebbly Chesil Beach, close to the glorious sandstone cliffs of Golden Cap. It is known as "The Gateway to the Dorset Jurassic Coast" and rose to prominence thanks to the television series Broadchurch. Wonderful for a family holiday, this seaside town provides scenic walks along the South West Coast Path, as well as plenty of chances to go sea fishing, crabbing, boating, and golfing. Check out Thomas Hardy's and TE Lawrence's residences, the Tank Museum in Bovington, and the Naval Air Museum in Yeovil. Bridport, the lively market town featured on River Cottage, is only 1.5 miles away. Numerous family-friendly activities are available in the region. Charmouth, a popular destination for fossil hunters; Lyme Regis, a picturesque seaside resort; and the River Cottage HQ in the vicinity of Axminster are all within easy driving distance to the West.
