Nestled between the verdant trails of the London Wetlands Centre, and the scenic Thames Path, dotted with quaint pubs and alfresco eateries, this attractive four-bedroom home commands some of the best that the family-friendly neighbourhood of Barnes has to offer. Boasting nuanced modern design, a beautifully accented palette, and a generously-sized garden, complete with sweeping lawn and alfresco dining, we love how things manage to stay both aesthetically sophisticated and irresistibly homely.
They say it's in the little things and this home has plenty of delectable details that we just love. And the kitchen certainly combines some of our favourites, including a gorgeous feature wall in dappled turquoise, a comfy corner sofa basking in the light of the ample glass windows overlooking the garden, and a sleek, light-drenched kitchen, featuring a striking kitchen island in mirroring turquoise tones. And when you're onto a good colour palette, why not stay with it? You can spot thoughtful accents of blue throughout, whether it's illuminated by a well-placed skylight in the stairwell, or in one of the stylishly sleek bathrooms. The living room and dining area are set to 'casual comfort', with a blend of textures, cushy sofas, and wooden dining table. Three of the bedrooms stick to this setting too, lifted by splashes of colour and ample space.
We Love
We're big fans of the TV room, where slouchy sofas and a large Smart TV will have no problem luring you into a few relaxed nights in. If the sun pokes out at all though, we'd highly recommend flinging open the kitchen doors and enjoying the garden, whether that be stretching out on the lawn with a good book, or tucking into an alfresco family meal at the table.
Home Truths:
No smoking, pets, or parties! This home is set over three floors, with air conditioning throughout. The fourth bedroom features a single bed on a little mezzanine in the attic. There's a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The kitchen features a double oven with an exciting (we think) pizza and rotisserie setting. The TV room could double up as a handy playroom for children. There's table tennis available in the garden. One room (not pictured) will be locked with no guest access. The host has a friendly cat who'll be around during your stay, but she can be re-homed on request for any bookings of 7 days or more with enough notice. A double bed will be added to the mezzanine room for an extra two guests, meaning this home can sleep eight in total.
