The fabulous Langdale Pikes are a level 2 mile walk further up the valley and Elterwater with its pub, cafe and lake is half a mile walk along the river.

There is easy access to numerous other Lake District attractions, with towns such as Ambleside, Windermere and Bowness all within a short drive. There is also a railway station at WIndermere just 6½ miles. These towns offer a wide selection of attractions such as The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, cinemas and museums, not to mention a fantastic selection of independent shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. For those outdoor pursuit enthusiasts, there is a broad selection of sports available, as well as the obvious water sports like sailing, wild swimming and long boarding, and there is climbing, golf and archery to name but a few. For family entertainment options, there are high ropes adventures, safari zoo, aquariums and even escape rooms.
