Meadow Cottage is a tastefully decorated, dog friendly holiday cottage near Witney which sleeps six guests, in three bedrooms, with a stylish family bathroom. Tucked away in the Oxfordshire countryside, this striking property has a cosy sitting room, a well-equipped kitchen, a generous wrap-around garden and wonderful rural views.

Meadow Cottage can be booked either on its own, or with Brook Cottage which sleeps 6+2 guests. Just a communal paddock apart, the two together offer an ideal setup for larger groups.

Good property, well located

We were pleased with our stay. The property was in a good location and a good size. I did think it could do with a bit of redecoration/touch up, most of the walls/picture frames had at least one chip/dent in. We also couldnt find the bins. Other than that we had a positive experience. Thanks

Peaceful location, great for walks without using the car

The location of this property is very rural and offers excellent opportunities for walks. The property has the potential to be amazing but feels unloved at the moment. The staircase has patches of plaster missing; the heating wasn't operational, some small plug in radiators were provided which weren't sufficient for the property size (thankfully it was mild weather when we stayed) and the main bin hadn't been emptied for weeks which wasn't surprising as there were no details in the property as to where the bins should be placed and the schedule for collection was a couple of years out of date. On the whole the cleanliness of the property was super - beautifully made, comfortable beds with no dust underneath! We missed there being a coffee table in the lounge and the storage in the bedrooms is scant. I don't want this to be a totally negative review - we had a lovely time touring the Cotswolds and loved the walks from the cottage. The local chip shop and Chinese take away were pretty good and the Harcourt Arms in Stanton Harcourt (about 5 minutes away in the car) is a beautiful pub and provides a gorgeous Sunday roast.

A lovely cottage marred by niggling issues that just need to be fixed

Cottage is in a truly wonderful position. Quiet and with beautiful, idyllic walks from outside the front door. Bedrooms are sweet; downstairs things are a bit sparse but comfortable. A few things were broken which are small but need fixing: the coffee machine, a blind in the bathroom, one of the drawers in the dishwasher, the light switch in the dining room and a dining room chair whose seat came off and I trapped my finger under it.

Perfect base to explore from

We stayed for 4 days over October half term. The cottage is lovely and worked perfectly for us with our teenage son and my Dad and dog. We used the cottage as a base driving to different villages throughout the Cotswolds each day. The cottage was fully equipped to cater for our needs cooking as required and in range for local delivery drivers. We awoke one morning to find a young deer in the garden!
