You can of course sit back and enjoy glimpses of the water from your home away from home, but to head down to the water's edge of Doves Bay it's just a quick four-minute walk. Or head a bit further out to visit Kerikeri township, where the weekend markets, local shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants await.

Within a 25-minute drive you'll find the great kauri trees and bush walks of the Puketi Forest, surfing at Matauri Bay, glow worm caves at Kawakawa, and a mountain bike park at Waitangi! There's even room to store your bikes in the gym when you get back from your ride.

For some adrenaline filled fun a little further out, take the hour's drive to Omapere and try some sand dune surfing!
