Great house but not nice owner

The property is wonderful. Great amenities. I was disappointed that the owner did not give us instructions on how to get in the property having emailed us the morning that we were in route. I was also disappointed in an accusatory text that I received accusing of having left the house a mess when we had actually kept the house very clean and followed detailed instructions about stripping the beds and so forth. We will look elsewhere when we stay at the lake next time.

Beautiful home, excellent location

Picture perfect northern Michigan home. Very clean, well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, large fireplace preloaded with wood. We stayed for a weekend to ice fish. There is lake access for snowmobiles less than 100yrs in either direction. I have zero reservations recommending this property and will stay here again. Stefan

Annual Family Vacation

We rented this beautiful home for a week. The house was perfect for our family. The home is very well equipped (the kitchen is incredible) with everything you need—plenty of towels, linens, etc. The patio is perfect for group lunches, dinners, or just hanging out. There are two grills that worked well - one gas and one charcoal. The owners were great about meeting us and giving a walk through upon arrival.

Family Reunion

Cathy met me at the door and welcomed me into her home. She provided me with a tour of the house - which came well equipped with towels, linens, toilet paper and even toiletries in the bathroom. The firepit was well taken care of and wood was provided. The house is very large and accommodated my entire family. It sits on the lake which provided an amazing view. Higgins Lake was perfectly clean and warm. Cathy was very easy to communicate with and even responded to a weekend text I sent to her! I would definitely recommend this house and will be looking to return here again in the future!

Great view!

Very spacious, great communication with the owner and fantastic view of the lake from the living room. I was struck by how well stocked this home was with everything we could possibly need for cooking, grilling and dining in our own little family “bubble” during Covid times

Higgins lake cottage

Very nice and spacious home on north Higgins lake with beautiful views and sounds of the lake. Perfect place for family and friends to gather. My family with four grown daughters enjoyed our stay and would definitely return again.

Great Stay!

12 of us stayed recently at this property and had a fantastic week! The house was comfortable for all of us and had plenty of living/hang out space. The patio is fantastic with lots of seating, a fire pit, and fantastic views of the lake. Our younger children had no problem with the water because it’s fairly shallow for a long time and they could play and walk out easily with no concern. This cottage had everything we needed and it’s an easy walk to the marina to rent a pontoon or jet skis.

Perfect property for large family gatherings!

Absolutely perfect property!!! Had 12 adults and 2 kids stay with us in this house and never once felt like we were on top of each other. Plenty of beds and bathrooms for everyone. The view and dock were perfect. We spent most of our time hanging out on the patio and dock. I would highly recommend this house for larger families. Couldn’t have been better all around experience.

Perfect setting to gather with family!!!

We loved everything about this property. The house is spacious and beautiful and had everything you could possibly need. Higgins Lake was gorgeous and it was so easy to rent a pontoon boat for the day. We hope to return!!!

Summer Vacation

We spent a week at this beautiful house on Higgins Lake in August 2016. It was spacious and a perfect fit for the nine of us: two senior citizens, three adults and four children. The owner, Cathy, was wonderful to deal with and had family meet us upon our arrival at the house with keys and answers to our questions. We rented a pontoon boat, paddle boards and kayaks for the week. Days were spent swimming and boating and evenings were spent on the patio having dinner, playing games and sitting around the fire pit. The sunsets were spectacular. If you are looking for a fun-filled, stress-free vacation then this is your spot.

Perfect Time

Just got back from an amazing long weekend at Cathy's lake house, and we could not be more pleased. The house is beautiful, the lake is amazing (clearer than the Gulf of Mexico, in my opinion,). There were 11 of us and between the 7 beds, 3 pull out couches and e numerous other sleeping options (air beds, sleeping pads etc) we were more than comfortable. Days were spent on boats rented from the marina down the street, a pleasant 5 minute stroll away. Evenings were spent relaxing outside taking in the scenery. One other thing is that this house is truly vacation ready, Cathy had EVERYTHING we would ever have needed for a great weekend, right down to charcoal for the grill! Just show up with your favorite adult beverages and enjoy your stay! We will be back.

I hesitate to give a raving review, only because I know that our best kept secret will get out...but this is truly a great location, great price, great amenities and super nice people to rent from. We've been coming here for the past 3 years and have never been disappointed. The pictures really do not do the property justice. It is top notch all the way. It has been great for our family - that include both older and younger families. Having 2 bedrooms and 2 baths downstairs, it is conducive for the grandparents. The upstairs with 2 bedrooms (2 queens each room) plus 2 pullout couches in loft, is great for the young families. The back living room with tv has been great to send the boys to watch their sports while the women do their catching up/cooking/cards in kitchen and front living room. We've had anywhere from 12-14 people and never felt crowded.

Perfect for Ice Fishing

This property was amazing. From start to finish, the owners were attentive and friendly. Fourteen of from Mid Michigan go on an annual ice fishing trip. We have been to several places both in the UP and LP and this by far has met all of our needs. The property is well maintained and has most all of the amenities we needed. I highly recommend this property for anyone who desires a more upscale place to have a lot of fun.
