7 miles off the coast of Maine, take a 30 minute ferry and unplug for your vacation. This house has been in my family for 4 generations and is the home that I grew up in. The kitchen has been updated and there is a bathroom on each floor. The house is steps away from a tidal cove. The deck off the back of the house faces west, you don’t want to miss the sunsets and star gazing. Enjoy hiking many trails, several small sandy beaches to explore, a local quarry for swimming and get a tour of the lighthouse.
There is a small grocery store on the island for essentials. Seafood can be bought from the local wharves. There are no restaurants, bars or shopping areas. It is for the traveler who wants to experience a Maine lobster fishing community.
