Bright, Airy Home with TONS of character in Hudson, NY - 5 min from Warren St

Welcome to 514 Route 66! Conveniently located 5 min from historic Warren St, this bright and stylish country home is just minutes from downtown Hudson, where you can enjoy fine-dining restaurants, hip cocktail bars, art galleries, antique shopping, and more. Or, just relax, stay home, and sip coffee or wine in the sun-drenched living area, beneath the vaulted ceiling. A perfect mix of town and country, for a perfect upstate weekend.

The space
The house comfortably accommodates up to six adults, with two bathrooms and three bedrooms with a queen bed in each room.

The house has a dedicated work space, ideal for remote work, meetings, and calls.

For the best exercise, we recommend hitting the local hiking trails and ski slopes. For a rainy day, we have a dedicated workout/meditation space equipped with yoga mats, resistance bands, and meditation pillows.

Want to stay in and relax? The house has a fully equipped kitchen and a separate dining area that comfortably sits up to six. You can also enjoy a quiet evening in our reading corner loaded with books from a wide variety of genres. The living room has everything you need for at-home entertainment: cards, board games, and an extra-large, wall-mounted television set up for Hulu, HBO Max, Netflix, and Peacock.

Yard - Our yard boasts two large patios with hand built furniture and a fire-pit, perfect for entertaining and evening hangouts!

Food and Drink - This area benefits from a tremendous wealth of local food and drink producers, including wineries, breweries, organic farms, and more.

Explore - With hiking trails, winter sports, art galleries, spas, and so much more just minutes from the house, you will have an abundance of recreational opportunities.

Just overnight

Stayed to go to nearby wedding. Wished we had more time to enjoy the house and very nice yard and fire pit. Bagel place a mile down the road is very nice and good!

Not as expected

Renter beware. Even though it says there are two bathrooms one is downstairs and not near a bedroom. All three bedrooms are upstairs sharing one bathroom. We weren’t happy with that as we were two couples, both elderly and it wasn’t easy for us. I contacted the owner the night we arrived and asked if we could get a refund. We were there for 2 nights. He refunded our 2nd night. But we were out our VRBO fees so it ended up costing us money. Additionally here are things wrong with the place: The door handle to the backyard was broken off when we arrived. One of the kitchen cabinet doors fell off when we opened it We saw bugs and a huge spider in the bathroom sink Grass needed to be cut The website said there would be a complimentary local bottle of wine upon our arrival -nope There was a water cooler in the kitchen that was empty No trash cans in the bedrooms Nowhere to put luggage in the bedrooms. Only beds and night tables. Towels were flimsy and small There were six remote controls for the tv with no explanations. Staircase was very narrow-difficult to get up and down with luggage On the positive side: The house was open and cute with character Very clean Nice sheets Beds were comfortable Owner was responsive to my complaint in issuing the refund. We will not return.

Unsafe. I would highly recommend others to stay away.

The back door did not lock properly. Even once the latch was engaged, the lock was clearly loose and could be opened from the outside or the inside with a hard pull. I described the issue to Shahidul and he told me how I should be operating the latch, which is exactly how I was operating it all along. He at first tried to tell me “it’s a safe neighborhood” in order to placate me, but when I pushed him, he spent a few minutes at the property and then claimed it was fixed, which it wasn’t. I was staying with my elderly mother and two-year-old daughter, and didn’t feel safe staying in a house that didn’t lock, so we had to get a last-minute hotel room at significant expense. Shahidul told me he would give me a full refund and later went back on his word and refused to process the refund. If you’re traveling with your family, or a group of women, or generally care about your safety, I would strongly encourage you to avoid this rental. Shahidul clearly does not perform routine maintenance checks on his property or prioritize the safety of his guests. Location was ok—isolated and not walkable to Warren Street or any of the restaurants or antique stores (and the isolation increased my level of discomfort with the non-working lock). Cleanliness was not 100%—the fridge had old food stains and some of the towels in the upstairs bathroom did not appear clean. Definitely the worst experience I’ve ever had with a short-term vacation rental.

We had a very comfortable night at the property. It has a little deferred maintenance but nothing that was a problem for us. The home and yard felt very homey. It was very close to town, so it was easy to park downtown and then walk the streets. The kids (9&7) loved the very large property, the very fun hammock and the “gymnastics” pad in the house. Thank you for a nice night.
