Perfect location for central Barh

Fantastic location. Spacious apartment with really confy beds. A few minor things need fixing including the consistent running tap in the kitchen. Would stay here again.

The best thing about this property is its location. It is AMAZING. Right in the heart of things and everything is walkable.The apartment itself is fine. It's quite large. There are things like water damage on the floor and the bathroom had other people's hair on the shower wall and dust bunnies hanging from the other wall.The host is essentially AWOL. All messages sent through VRBO app were not responded to. A few hours before check in (very anxious) we sent a WhatsApp and got the code from WhatsApp. We used the host number listed in the contact information and put it in to WhatsApp. Otherwise I highly doubt that the host would have sent us the code to get in.Would I stay again? Maybe. It met our needs and the location was amazing.But if something else was available I would probably take that first.

Overnight stay

We loved our stay. Fantastic location and apartment was very spacious and homely. We had some trouble accessing as hadn’t been sent the instructions and couldn’t find it which I think has happened before so for anyone staying it’s down the alley to the right of No 9 - white door into a courtyard! Would definitely stay again :)

Someone loved this place once.

Someone loved this place once, but now it's getting a bit run down. Positives - The location is fantastic! Could not ask for a better place. The shower had plenty of hot water. Plenty of tra/coffee provided.Negatives - The hot tap in the kitchen leaks (not drips, water runs out). The toilet seat is still broken. Wifi does not work. TV does not work. The owner is not contactable - AtAll. You will get an automatic text about 10 minured after check in time with the details. Do not bother with messenges through the app. Do not bother trying the number to contact as per instructions on the automatic message. Overall, location perfect, but this place needs some love back into it. bellwere cery comfortable

Never book with this Host

Travelled from Australia. Day of our booking I contacted Host six times. Host DID NOT respond. We arrived at our accommodation & still no reply. This Host left us STRANDED, with no explanation!! How is this ok? I believe the Host should pay for our alternate accommodation.

Location is great for the centre of Bath. Property is in desperate need of maintenance eg dripping tap, outside light not working, fridge freezer not working properly, broken toilet seat, just to mention a few of the defects. Host does not respond to messages in the app and has a full message box if you try and phone

Location was amazing.

We had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay immensely. The location of the property was fantastic. It needs a few fixes like the shower head, hall floor, freezer. There was nothing on the listing that said it was an apartment that was a full flight down from the street level.

Well-appointed, good location, subterranean

We were very disappointed to find that the apartment was below street level, so all the windows faced walls and anyone walking by could look down into the rooms. So, to have any privacy, we had to keep the shades down at all times. We didn't enjoy the feel of that at all. The apartment is well laid out and well appointed in the kitchen. There is NO free parking, so know that 24 hours will cost you about $21 pounds. We would not stay here again.

Huge flat, terrible communication, poor maintenance

The cons:TERRIBLE communication from the host. We got our access instructions, including the code for the lockbox, approximately 15 minutes after 4 PM, the time we were told we could access the property.A maintenance person showed up on our checkout day, so I'm not sure what he fixed but the issues I noticed were: The kitchen sink constantly dripped and had no hot water. The bathroom door does not close unless it is locked. The front door is very difficult to lock. The Wi-Fi was spotty at best. Nearly impossible to access cell service or Wi-Fi for nearly the entire stay. The television satellite or cable were also nonfunctional. We had to go outside and up to the ground level to do anything requiring connectivity. The router looks about 10 years old.There are soft spots in the floor near the bathroom and there were hairs in the shower when we arrived.The pros: Very spacious, and to our delight, we found that the washer also dries clothes, which has been very unusual in our trip around England. Location is amazing! It's about a block from the Roman Baths, and surrounded by cute little shops. Very easy to pop in and out of the property between excursions.. Noise between rooms in the apartment is minimal; however, the windows let in every sound from the exterior. The bells of the Abbey rang for nearly an hour and a half on our first night, apparently because of bell ringing students? We were woken up every morning by the sounds of pigeons and seagulls.

Excellent Location but it stops there.

Started out with poor communication from host. Didn't get check in information until day of check in. I explained this was going to be an issue as my phone was not getting good internet access and I needed to be on wifi. I asked him to please send it while I was at my hotel the day before. Didn't happen and it was a struggle to get code for lock box. Apartment is in an excellent location. Close to everything and walkable from train station. It is a basement apartment and exterior is dirty as well as window wells. Interior was clean however one bedroom smells very musty. Kitchen sink continually dripped and I sent message to host to let them know. Never heard back. No surprise there. Wouldn't stay there again.

Disaster

Only saw the property on website, booking/payment accepted by host even though they had taken a previous booking from another party via another third party website. This was only confirmed to me on the morning that I had booked for, in fact 15 mins before I was due to leave home, leaving me to sort out refund and alternative accomodation via a different website as Vrbo don't accept same day bookings. I assume this is a standard review request as all these details are held by Vrbo and I doubt they really want a negative, if honest review.

A gem of a place!

This apartment was truly a gem! The location literally could not be better- less than a 5 min walking distance to most places you would want to go in Bath! The apartment itself was HUGE! Way larger than the listing even makes it look. Lots of room to lounge and leave luggage, which was great. Two large bedrooms one with a King sized bed and the other with two singles and a large bathroom. It was sparkling clean, and we were able to drop our bags off before check in time so we could explore ! The only thing I will say- when you go to put the key in the lockbox, you have to slam it HARD. We honestly thought it was broken and contacted the host , but it just needed to be push really really hard.
