Location, location, location!
This house is on the main road leading right to the ocean and beach. The location is wonderful, but that’s where it ends. The property itself needs a complete overhaul. We were greeted with a continuous stream of ants in the kitchen (countertops, cupboards, drawers, walls) and in the bathrooms. We addressed this with the property management company who sent over ant traps on Monday, two days after we checked in. It took a couple of days but the ants slowly dissipated in number only to return on our last day of the trip. The house itself is very old and has not been maintained by its owner, which is a shame. It is clearly being used as income property and there is zero pride of ownership. The walls and ceilings are deteriorating plaster walls and the floors are uneven, as is the rickety staircase leading up to the bedrooms on the second floor. The entire house smells strongly of mold. We actually went and spoke to the property manager in person and she sent a cleaning crew who worked to make the house cleaner, but that really should have been done before anyone stayed in it! There is mold on every bathroom ceiling and it is impossible to get away from the mildew scent. The photos of this house are photoshopped, at best. You will not get what you see here in the photos. The “laundry room” is a garage full of past guests’ forgotten items and has never been cleaned. The washer was full of mold. Renter beware!
