Out of the Blue combines laid-back mountain luxury with family-friendly amenities to keep guests of all ages smiling. Offering 5500 sf of living space with an open floor plan; 2 king master suites with ensuite baths and sitting area, 2 king guest bedrooms each with ensuite baths, half bath and a open loft, Out of the Blue offers each guest enough privacy to relax and recharge, along with ample space to reconnect. Enjoy peaceful mornings or evenings enveloped in nature in the tree house pavilion with fire table, 50" flat screen TV, dining table and gas grill (hooked in to propane supply) . The babbling nearby creek is always audible. Prepare your favorite meals in the large gourmet kitchen. Curl up with a good book by the fire in the main living room, which features a striking floor to ceiling natural stone fireplace. Gather to watch movies or sports in the movie lounge with 65” smart TV. Unwind in the yoga room – or get sweating on the Echelon bike. Old-school entertainment beckons in the decked out game space (unconditioned space), with 60-game video arcade table (hello, Ms. Pacman, Frogger and Donkey Kong), full-sized table shuffleboard, pool table, board games and Olympic basketball goal. The bright custom mural pays tribute to Asheville’s iconic River Arts district. Play your favorite tunes throughout the house on the Sonos sound system.

PLEASE NOTE: As the back of the home looks out on several heavily wooded acres, some windows (main level master bath and lower level bedrooms and baths) are either frosted or have no window coverings. The owners feel the home lends to this open feel, and we share this in the event you are uncomfortable with being unable to control your level of privacy.

The kitchen, living room, dining room, pavilion and master are on the 2nd floor/main floor of the home and accessed by stairs. The 3 additional bedrooms, movie room, game room are accessed from the first floor.

Family Gathering on the Mountain

Our stay at Out of the Blue was perfect. With a larger group and ages ranging from 1-76, the house was spacious (much more spacious feeling than the pictures can show) and very comfortable. We cooked in the large kitchen while family sat close by. We sat on the huge outdoor porch being warmed by the fire table. We visited by the hearth in the huge living room. A few of us enjoyed pool in the basement game room. For a relatively short stay, we lived very well in this beautiful home! Thank you to the owners and management for creating such a welcoming and warm home.

Perfect Location - House had everything we needed

We recently stayed at Out of the Blue - the location was perfect (quiet enough for us to relax, and close enough to town to get to ELDR easily for dinner and to spend time shopping downtown). The house layout had everything we needed for our group - plenty of open spaces that allowed everyone to come together for football, and small nooks to allow people to do their own thing when they wanted some quiet. The pool table and video game machine were the epicenter of some heated competition. The kitchen was well-appointed and had everything our chef from Braised & Confit needed to come in and cook us a fantastic meal one night. And it was still easy to navigate as we cooked our own breakfasts. The property manager did a quick phone check to make sure all was going well, and we had no issues that we needed to have addressed. We will definitely be back!

Great House for Large Group

This house was better in person than the photos conveyed. It had a great kitchen, dining and living room area that was big enough for our group of 8. The outside covered porch area was also very nice, although be aware that if you come in the winter there are no heaters and the fire feature does not throw off substantial heat. This makes the area a bit unusable in cold weather. We were lucky enough to be able to enjoy it on our arrival day, but after that it was too cold. All the bedrooms were large and comfortable. The house was equipped with everything you need. The rental management company was extremely responsible. They informed us of a small plumbing issue they were taking care of and followed up to make sure everything was working, which it was. They called again the next day to make sure everything was still going well. The house is conveniently located near a Whole Foods, Trader Joes and Harris Teeter, and downtown Asheville, However, you are very much still away from it all in the woods. The property is great and private. Our only disappointment was the game room and all its great features was without heat or air. Upon rereading the house description it is noted that this room is “unconditioned” but I guess that little word did not catch our attention. We really wanted to use the poker table, video games, etc. but the room was so cold making it unusable without a coat. Inspite of that, we still had a great time and would recommend this house.

Amazing House for Getaway

We really enjoyed this house for a group of friends celebrating a milestone birthday. The house has everything you need for a great trip and each rooms was perfect. We loved the master bathroom and the porch with gas fireplace for evenings. It's only about a 20 minute drive from downtown. The multiple rooms to spend time in were great from reading, to movie night to game night this house has it all! We didn't want to go out one night so we can enjoy the kitchen and everything this house has to offer. Everything was fully stocked. Highly recommend if you want to explore the mountains and Asheville.
