A new leaf...
Hi, my name is Tami. My parents sold their home in Butte Montana and bought this home after we placed dad in a memory care center here in Boise in 2014. Mom and dad had plans of retiring in Salome AZ where they bought a small home together but always had a 'home base, somewhere else for the summers. Because of dad's diagnosis, they had to make other plans.
She was a fixer upper and the bright wall colors inspired our needed happiness.
The cottage was meant to be a place for mom to stay during the summers and for us to stay in the winter months so we could make sure Dad was not alone here.
Mom has always shared the cottage and it has served our family well throughout the years. It was my temporary home for several years as I moved my son here to attend Boise High School and play for the Junior Steelheads hockey program. Three grandchildren also lived in the home while they attended school at CWI, BSU or worked to purchase their own home. It was also used for family guests to come visit Grandpa.
Dad sadly passed away in May and our family changed in so many ways. Mom stayed with me in Meridian to grieve and to rebuild our lives and schedules without dad. Inspired by her granddaughter's new kitchen, she decided to get rid of crazy lime green and orange in hers.
The home kitchen renovation and was a wonderful new beginning a great distraction. My hubby and I (Pa Pa Goose Enterprises Handyman Services) helped mom remodel and organize her home.
We decided to share the home with guests on VRBO because it fits so well with our initial intentions to share our home. We simply block out the times Mom will come home to live her in Boise home. I have agreed to manage it for her and we are capable of fixing whatever it needs.
We are so excited to see how this new endeavor goes. Hoping that guests will be patient with us as we learn how it works.

We chose this property because it is one level and small. We needed something simple, not overwhelming. Mom loved the outside fireplace and covered patio. She will likely be spending more time outside now that she has a hot tub too.
We were attracted to it's vintage charm even if it was in need of a lot of love when we purchased it. The floors were all sanded and walls were painted in 'happy' colors. We were all going through a big life transition and made the color choices that would inspire happiness. A lot of the North end Homes can get away with silver walls and funky bathrooms!!
We wanted to have access to close shopping and hospitals too.
It has a wonderful park for kids and dogs right behind it and close access to downtown and the greenbelt.
The home is easy to get to, although now with the State Street intersection you have to flip a U turn to get onto 36th if you are driving East. Veteran's Memorial Street turns into 36th Street after State Street. 36th Street is somewhat of a busy street (where the front of the home faces) which is why the back yard is so valuable for this property.
Parking is off of Sunset Street where the old garage (now she shed) is. There's room for one car to pull into the driveway and off street parking is available.
