The neighborhood is wonderful... lots of charm. Some beautiful homes (University, Potter, 21st and 22nd)... tree lined streets but still close to everything. We walk for dinner most nights to one of 4 great dining options on 19th (McMenamins, Agate Alley, Studio One and Beppe and Gianni's) and we love to walk the neighborhood in the evening. And there is the best ice cream shop anywhere (Prince Puckler's... try the salted caramel!).
If you are coming to Eugene for a football game it is a really nice walk on game day over the river to Autzen Stadium. Hayward field is very close for Track and baseball is even closer. Mathew Knight arena is also easily walkable.
We have our things we look forward to every trip... like taking a short bike ride to breakfast through Amazon Park to Eugene's best breakfast spot (the Hideaway Bakery). We always walk through campus over to 13th to Expresso Roma for excellent coffee and treats at least once. Maybe the Glenwood on Alder... great for breakfast. We also like to ride bikes over to the river and have lunch on the river at McMenamins North Bank. There are so many great dining options in Eugene (Surprising how many there are) and things to do for which you are ideally located at Studio 88.
