The village of Bacton offers excellent walks, pub with restaurants, fish and chip shop, café and an ice cream parlour. Bacton Woods is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic and it has great dog walking trails. The village is very dog friendly, and dogs are permitted on the beach, restricted in certain areas during the busy summer months. The traditional seaside resorts of Cromer, 12 miles, and Sheringham, 19 miles, for fun at the seaside, or Wroxham, 12 miles, known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads National Park, where you can hire a day launch or join a cruise and watch the world drift by. Perfect for families is BeWILDerwood at Horning, an outdoor adventure park. Another firm favourite is the Dinosaur Park at Lenwade, offering both outside and inside fun, including a splash park for warmer days.
Avid gardeners can make a visit to The Old Vicarage Gardens at East Runton to enjoy the extensive gardens, its tearoom with tasty cakes and the Sheringham National Trust Park. Other National Trust properties including Felbrigg and Blickling Halls, ideal for lovers of history. The Royal Cromer and Mundesley golf courses will not disappoint golfing enthusiasts. Why not enjoy the chance to spot hundreds of grey seals and pups along the shore at Horsey beach, between December and February. The city of Norwich is 20 miles away and offers two excellent indoor shopping malls, market square, theatre, cinema complexes, castle museum, cathedral, cafés, restaurants and pub. Sea fishing and beach 200 yards. Restaurant 70 yards. Shop, pub and ice cream parlour all within 800 yards.
