It should be a great place but....
The villa was sold as a dream place to stay. The location of the villa, with its own pool and various bedrooms and bathrooms with a games room should be a dream however if you are going to book this there are a few things that you should be aware of.
Firstly the directions to the place were so bad that it took us a good hour to find the villa. The address is actually Calle El Timplie (which is part of the development La Orilla) and not Calle La Orilla, the address we were given, which is a completely different street. We were so tired after the 4 hour flight and time spent searching that we didn’t get a good look at the house until the next day. Make sure you get the correct address from the company before you set off to find it.
As professional people in the property market, who inventory properties before people move into them, we obviously expected the villa to be as described in the advert. The first thing that hit us in the kitchen was a moldy coffee pot with remains of coffee inside and a small pot with an old moldy tea bag in it, we cleaned these out ourselves. The microwave didn’t work properly but rattled away when we tried to use it and the large freezer in the utility room has an occasional leak. We moved around the property and found that the showers had mildew in them and the property suffers from damp, and smells as such, with some walls losing paint because of this. This isn’t shown in the photos in the advertisement.
The house was so hot we travelled from room to room trying to find a place that we could sleep with the windows open without flies getting in to no avail so gave up and just decided that we would only open the windows after the sun had gone down. Many of the windows are not equipped with insect nets which would be a necessity here.
The games room was not as described either. There are only a handful of DVD’s, some missing from the cases, the games are old and are stuck together from damp, including the playing cards, so none are of any use really. There were no usable darts to go with the dart board so we bought our own.
Because of the heat and damp in the room the football table is losing its veneer and you certainly can’t use the room during the day because of the heat. The shower was not attached in the bathroom in the games room, so we put this up for them whilst we were there! This isn't long enough to review this place fully. Flies, pigeons, dog mess, pool not clean etc, etc. Full review available if wanted.
