Welcome to Ravens Rest, located in the gated community of Riverbend at Lake Lure. The location is ideal, just a short drive to downtown Lake Lure, Chimney Rock Village, and Chimney Rock State Park. This DOG FRIENDLY, three bedroom, two bath, ranch style, log sided home has it all.

On the way to the home in the community you will pass a riverside gazebo and the gorgeous Mirror Lake, both for your use. More about that later. There is a flat circular drive that easily accommodates the maximum of TWO cars. Unloading groceries and luggage is easy, as there are only a few steps in front. Once you've unpacked, you can relax on the rocking chairs on the covered front porch.

The inside is open and inviting, with a split bedroom plan. The living room has plenty of seating, with a comfortable couch, love seat, side chair, ottoman, coffee table, three end tables, and ceiling fan. It's the perfect place for your entire group to gather and enjoy the GAS FIREPLACE while streaming your favorite shows on the large wall mounted flat screen TV.

The kitchen is ideal for a group vacation, with tons of upper and lower cabinets, and ample granite counters for food preparation and serving. It features refrigerator freezer, dishwasher, electric stove and oven, microwave, toaster oven, DRIP AND KEURIG COFFEE MAKERS, plenty of cookware and utensils, and enough dishes and glasses for everyone. Off the kitchen is a laundry room with WASHER and DRYER.

The formal dining area adjoins the kitchen making serving meals a breeze. It has a table for six, the ideal place for dining, playing games, or just sitting to plan the next day's activities. If you prefer to dine outside, there is a full-length deck with table and chairs, GAS BARBEQUE and additional seating.

The luxurious Master Suite has KING SIZE bed, two large nightstands with reading lamps, a huge 14 drawer dresser, walk in closet, dressing mirror, and ceiling fan. If you need to get some work done while on vacation, there is a small desk so you can work where it's quiet. The private Master Bath has full length vanity with two sinks and enough drawers for all your items at your home away from home. There's enough room for two people to get ready at the same time with a big counter and oversized mirror. Choose from a big soaking bathtub after hiking, or a quick shower if you're on the go. We provide thick white luxurious towels, and starter bathroom amenities in case you arrive late.

Guests enjoy a split bedroom plan, meaning the Master Suite is on one side of the home and the two Guest Rooms are on the other. This offers a larger group or family some additional privacy at the end of the day. The bedrooms were designed to offer the best of sleeping flexibility. The first Guest Room has a QUEEN SIZE bed, his and hers 6 drawer dresser and a second 4 drawer dresser, walk in closet, side chair for dressing, and a ceiling fan. The second Guest Room has two beds, a QUEEN SIZE and a TWIN separated by nightstand with reading light. There is no closet in this bedroom, but there is a large six drawer dresser. Stay cool with an overhead ceiling fan. The two Guest Rooms share a full Guest Bath with tub and shower. A pack and play crib and booster seat are also included at this home for those traveling with little ones.

The outside is a mountain paradise. In addition to the full-length deck, there is a FIRE PIT with chairs, ready to roast marshmallows and make lasting memories. Just steps away is the "Game Barn" complete with ping pong table, football table, Jenga, and more. The big level back yard is an ideal place for children to run around safely.

SUP:
You have access to 1 inflatable "SUP" it is located in the "Game Barn". Please make sure it is returned to the home inside the Game Barn when finished.

"Riverbend at Lake Lure", is a private gated community. During your stay you will have access to enjoy all the amenities of Riverbend including Mirror Lake, beach, lakefront boardwalk, covered lakefront picnic area with tables & rocking chairs, the Broad River Old Swimming Hole, walking trails, and seating by the waterfall and along the Broad River. The fishing is excellent with a valid NC State Fishing license. Deer and wild turkey are sited regularly.

HOME RULES

First, be aware the North Carolina Vacation Rental Act provides you with certain rights and protections. Second, we would like to make you aware of a few local regulations designed to promote a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY LIMITS: The maximum overnight occupancy limit for this home is 7 people. You must provide us with the number of people and vehicles in your group. Violation of occupancy rules are grounds for immediate eviction with no refund, and fees will be charged to your credit card to cover any damages.

DESIGNATED PARKING: Vehicles must be parked only in designated areas on the vacation rental property. Parking in the roadway blocking the flow of traffic and parking on neighbor's property without permission are prohibited. There is parking for a maximum of 2 vehicles at this property, no exceptions. Absolutely NO boats, trailers, campers, RV's, large passenger vans, ATV or off-road vehicles of ANY kind regardless if they are street legal, or any other oversized vehicles of ANY kind. Overflow parking is available on a first come first serve basis beside main gate.

ACCESS: This home is located inside a gated community with restricted access. If you have any questions, please let us know. Finding this home at night may be difficult and cell phone service is not reliable.

TRASH DISPOSAL: Because of BEARS we ask that all trash be removed at the end of your stay.Riverbend at Lake Lure does not offer daily trash service. Guest is responsible for taking trash to community dumpster. Dumpster is located beside the main gate for Riverbend.

MINIMUM AGE: You must be at least 25 years of age to reserve a rental property. You must sign a rental agreement and be a guest at the property during the entire term of the stay. You must present a valid government ID within 72 hours of reservation.

NO HOUSE PARTIES: We do not accept reservations from sororities, fraternities, spring-break parties, bachelor / bachelorette / wedding parties, or any similar groups unless approved at time of reservation. Mr. Lake Lure Vacation Rentals works closely with local law enforcement to patrol our rental homes. We have a ZERO tolerance policy for noise of any kind.

FIRE PROTECTION FOR YOUR SAFETY: This home is equipped with working fire extinguishers and a posted evacuation plan. Removing any of these from their designated location is prohibited. Avoid storing items not to block hallways, doorways, steps, entrances, and exits. When an area burning ban is in effect, bonfires are prohibited. Contact your rental home's property manager for information on any burning bans. Small outdoor fires are permitted in the fire pit ONLY.

LAKE ACTIVITIES: Do not swim farther than 50 feet from shore unless accompanied by an observer in a boat. A North Carolina fishing license is required, and all state fishing regulations apply.

TRESPASSING: Trespassing or venturing onto a neighboring property without the owner's permission is prohibited.

NO SMOKING: Smoking, Vaping and Electronic cigarettes are prohibited in all our vacation rental homes. You will be assessed an additional cleaning fee if it is discovered you have been smoking and/or vaping in the home of $500. We ask that all smokers stay a minimum of 10 ft from any open window or door, do not stand near open doors or windows allowing smoke to enter the home while smoking on property. Please make sure butts and ashes are not left behind. Discard the butts and ashes in the outside garbage. Do not throw butts on the ground (including the fire pit) or bring them into the home. If there is any tobacco smell in the home after your departure, there will be a minimum $500 charge. Oil lamps and incense are not permitted due to the long-lasting odor. If these policies are violated, there will be a charge for excessive cleaning.

NOISE: Unreasonably loud noise is prohibited throughout the Town of Lake Lure. Please observe quiet hours after 10 p.m. and be aware that sound carries very far in our quiet little community.

UNRULY BEHAVIOR: Behavior deemed disorderly and causing a disturbance to the public is prohibited. These regulations will be strictly enforced.


PETS/ANIMALS - DOG FRIENDLY HOME: This is a Dog Friendly Home, cats or other animals of ANY kind are not allowed. A MAXIMUM of two adult dogs are allowed with additional nonrefundable pet fee of $60-$120. All dogs MUST be reported prior to arrival and the corresponding pet fee paid. Dogs must not be left unattended and must be crated if left at the home. Dogs are NOT allowed on the furniture or beds. Please always pick up after your dogs, be mindful of the neighbors if they bark, and keep your dogs on a leash. Any non-reported dogs will most certainly be discovered on the Homeowners exterior security cameras and the penalties in the Rental Agreement will be strictly enforced. This includes a $500 fine and you will be asked to vacate the home immediately, regardless of the scheduled duration of your stay and forfeit all rents.

BOOKING WEBSITES: You will be required to sign a vacation rental agreement before your reservation is secured. Your total amount listed on the Mr. Lake Lure® Vacation Rental Agreement may be different than the amount paid to the 3rd party website used for booking. All third-party websites charge service fees to guests for using their services. We have no control over those fees and do not collect them.

RENTAL AGREEMENT AND TOTAL BALANCE: You will be required to sign a vacation rental agreement before your reservation is secured. Failure to sign rental agreement with-in 72 hours of booking, will result in cancellation of reservation and forfeiture of deposit. Any monies received by Mr. Lake Lure Vacation Rentals for occupancy of vacation property indicated the acceptance of the terms of our vacation rental agreement in full. Your total amount listed on the Mr. Lake Lure® Vacation Rental Agreement may be different than the amount paid to the 3rd party site you book through. All third-party sites charge differing amounts as service fees to guests for using their services. We have no control over those fees and do not collect them.

Please read your vacation rental agreement carefully before you begin your vacation. All policies are strictly enforced. It is the responsibility of all guests and members of their party to be familiar with all policies pertaining to rental.


ALL PROPERTIES OFFER AN INITIAL SUPPLY OF THE FOLLOWING AMENITIES:
(including, but not limited to): bed linens and bath towels (2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths per Tenant, 2 hand towels per bathroom sink), dishwasher detergent (2 loads) and dishwashing soap, sponge, laundry detergent (2 loads), hand soap, (1 set per bathroom sink, including hotel size: 1 bar of soap, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner and 1 lotion), paper towels (1 roll), toilet paper (2 rolls per bathroom), and garbage bags (2 kitchen bags, plus 2 black bags). If you don't feel this will be adequate for your stay, you will want to stop and pick up more on your way. All properties provide fully equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, including coffee makers as well as some cooking utensils. Locked pantries and closets are reserved for the use of the Property Owner and are not accessible to Tenant. Rearranging furniture or removing any items from the Property is prohibited. Condiments and cooking essentials are not provided.

ITEMS YOU WILL/MAY WANT TO BRING FOR YOUR STAY:

Extra folding chairs, beach towels, shampoos/ body soaps, hair dryers, basic cooking condiments, tin foil, plastic wrap, food storage containers, coffee, board games, fishing poles & tackle, floats, life preservers for toddlers/infants, golf clubs.

ADDITIONAL FEES: Booking on Airbnb, all additional fees (Processing fee, Damage Waiver, Resort fees, etc.) are combined with the housekeeping fee. This causes the housekeeping fee to appear much higher than it is. Feel free to contact us for a breakdown of those fees.

*** Lake Lure will be undergoing a drawdown starting January 1st, through the first quarter (March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet has been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. No personal watercraft will be allowed on the lake during this time. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season. For more information about the annual lake drawdown, please contact the Town of Lake Lure.

IMPORTANT RIVERBEND COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

Riverbend is a residential community. Please be respectful of neighbors.

No loud music or excessive noise after 10 pm.
Fireworks are never allowed in Riverbend.
Do not lift gate. It will break gate and result in a fine. Homeowner is responsible for admitting guests after gate hours. Please contact homeowner for after hour entry at any time.
Entrance and exit gates admit only one car per entry. No tailgating. It will break gate system.
Please display visitor pass at all times while in Riverbend. Guest pass will be provided to guests by either the owner or the Gate Staff at the main entrance gate (Rainbow Circle).
The speed limit in Riverbend is 15 MPH or less AT ALL TIMES. We share our roads with hikers, homeowners walking their dogs and wildlife. The speed limit will be strictly enforced.
Dogs MUST be leashed at all times. Guests must pick up behind their pets. Dogs are NOT allowed at the Beach at any time. Homeowners will be fined if guests have a dog on the beach. Dogs are welcome at Swimming Hole, river, and Riverwalk. Guests shall not leave their dogs unattended and must curtail excessive barking.
No vehicles may park on any roads in Riverbend including the road over the dam which is between Mirror Lake and the Riverwalk . Parking is available next to the post office box building near the main gate or at the parking area above Riverwalk or the gravel area next to beach.
Driving on the beach/ sand is strictly prohibited.
No kayaks/canoes may be left overnight at the beach. Kayak slots are by assignment only.
Open fires in Riverbend are prohibited. Use of fire pits with covers is allowed if owner permits.
Guests shall not litter in Riverbend but shall dispose of trash in receptacles provided by Riverbend or use "pack it in and pack it out" rules.
Bagged household trash may be disposed of at the compactor at the front gate. (Rainbow Circle).

This property exceeded our expectations! The kitchen was fully stocked. There were tons of board games. They even had brochures to assist you on planning your time there. The outdoor activities are endless......they have a game room and horseshoes.....theres a gas grill and an amazing fire pit with tons of seating. I could go on forever. I believe this is the best place we have ever stayed.....and we vacation often!
