When the weather is warm enough the garden is wonderful for everyone. Have a bonfire, light up the fire pit for a barbecue, lie in the dappled shade of the big sycamore and enjoy the birdsong and the swallows playing all around. The kids can enjoy the rope swing, water fights, basketball, football and toasting marshmallows. There are plenty of balls, blankets, water pistols and games to enjoy in the garden. The woodlands provide long walks and streams for the kids and the dogs. If you're keen on mountain biking there are woodland tracks galore - they go as far as Stonehaven!
When the weather is cold the cottage is the perfect place to hunker down, enjoy the warmth of the Aga and the underfloor heating, play board games, enjoy a drink in a crystal glass, read some Scottish verse and play a few records or the piano. There are plenty of areas for everyone to hang out so that you can come together or enjoy your own space.
The cottage has a bean to cup coffee machine, ice machine and all the kitchen equipment you'll need to cook up a feast (please let us know if you'd like an high speed blender or juicer for your stay). There are cocktail and recipes books for inspiration. Beautiful veggies and local goodies can be bought from several local farm shops. The Spud Hut is literally across the field from the cottage and is full of the farmer's goodies (use payPal, take a bag). His potatoes taste amazing : )
The cottage displays the owners sketches and paintings, some of the local area. The cottage is also full of little artworks from other artists, which reflect the surrounding environment and wildlife and some that do not!
