Beautiful, but smelly
This apartment is spacious and full of light - but there was a rotten smell in the bathroom, which wafted into the living room/kitchen and occasionally was so strong it made us retch. The warden said they would try to remedy, but we didn’t hear back from them for the rest of our week. Contact to the owner and warden wasn’t good. We didn’t get answers to our questions when we booked, but a day before our arrival (!) we were asked by e-Mail to confirm that the apartment was ok and that we would refrain from any complaints. Check-in info was only given after this confirmation. Seeing that you have already paid the full price, you have no chance to challenge or avoid this confirmation without losing the use of the apartment. Moreover, you are informed you have to make a downpayment for eventual damage. I feel that is ok if it were announced beforehand, in the advertisement. But it feels definitely not ok to do for a flat whose good state you have had to confirm without even seeing it. In the flat, all was tidy and the appliances were all good and modern, but none had a user manual. Why not use your holiday time to google how the washing machine works…
To sum it up, we neither felt welcome to the owner, the check-in process let us wonder whether we were being duped, and the smell in the apartment was revolting at times. Would we book it again? Rather not.
