Welcome to The Tuckaway! Nestled into a mountainside and boasting views of iconic Mt. LeConte, this charming cabin is the perfect Smoky Mountain getaway.
Located in desirable Chalet Village, The Tuckaway offers a tranquil mountain retreat that is 10 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, 30 minutes from all of the entertainment offered in Pigeon Forge, and 1 mile from the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. No matter what type of vacation brought you to the Great Smoky Mountains, The Tuckaway is the ideal stay.
Spend a slow morning drinking coffee on the balcony taking in the peaks of the neighboring mountains and enjoying the perfect view of Gatlinburg Tramway, a gondola that runs from downtown Gatlinburg to the Ober Gatlinburg Resort at the top of the mountain. Waking up to a view of the mountains is an amazing experience - based on the weather and seasons they look different every day.
After a full day spent exploring Dollywood, strolling through historic Gatlinburg, or hiking to a scenic vista in the national park, come home and enjoy a cozy night in at the cabin. Pile onto the large sectional with the family to enjoy a movie downstairs, or challenge one another to a friendly game of pool. Upstairs, help yourself to the variety of board games and gather around the coffee table while the sun sets – during the winter you can see the sparkling lights of Gatlinburg from the living room. For ultimate relaxation, a soak in the hot tub on the front porch can’t be beat.
The fully stocked kitchen makes it easy to prepare a meal at the cabin, or call in an order for a pizza at the local shop down the road.
From Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day, guests are able to use the swimming pools and other amenities at the Chalet Village Owners Clubhouses.
There are three clubhouses to choose from - the South Baden Clubhouse (1319 South Baden Drive) is 1 mile away, the Alpine Clubhouse (1151 Upper Alpine Road) is 1.5 miles away, and the North Clubhouse (705 Village Loop Road) is 3 miles away.
Chalet Village has an active bear population and you can often see bears walking around the property as they travel up and down the mountain. Living so closely with the bears is a privilege, and we urge all guests to treat them with respect and always maintain a safe distance. As a final note on bear safety, please make sure to always roll up the windows on your vehicles and lock all doors. The bears are very clever and can easily gain access to an unlocked car.
